  1. just prepare yourselves that the accepted narrative going forward will be that the opportunity to train and play for England has made him a far better player which he couldn't possibly have achieved at lowly old Villa without the genius of Southgate and the FA
  2. Where all the plane spotters at? Come on nerds do your thing
  3. just so you all know, whoever posts the actual official tweet that Rashica has signed for someone else I will hate you forever and associate you with sadness and disappointment. i am absolutely small minded and petty enough to shoot the messenger
  4. no stats to back this up but another positive from the new look Villa is that Jack seemed to get kicked a lot less last night. Probably due to the fact that he didnt have to hold on to the ball so much as there was always a pass on, and that there were other dangerous players on the pitch so he didnt get targeted so much. can only be a good thing
  5. oh you could definitely describe some of us as "special"
  6. he was killing the ball stone dead when receiving those huge diagonal balls across the park. like, it looked like he was trapping a bag of sand cos it just stuck to his foot. was incredible. people used to purr over zidane doing this back in the day and jack has the same touch oooh spooky. think i posted my message at the same time as the one above and they both mentioned a zidane comparison
  7. Given his remarks about Lamela I can only assume he believes this is because of the Brummie culture and that "they all do it"
  8. Really sports journalism has now just become who can make up lies in the most creative ways on the best platform with the hope of getting it right on the odd occasion by pure fluke. No such thing as building up relationships, unearthing sources or investigating the truth. Experience or qualifications or intelligence no longer matter. It's all about the number of clicks they receive at the end of the day. Or to put it more simply, all these sports journalists are a bunch of lying words removeds. In saying that I will continue to read and get excited by all these itk postings so I guess it works
  9. Thought he was really good in the second half against Stoke. DS said himself that he was livid and read them the riot act at half time. Maybe AEG is the kind of player that needs something like that to get him going. Both him and kienan strike me as the kind of characters that need a rocket up them to get them going and get the best out of them
  10. Judging by the chance he missed last night all that lovely hair is there to hide his 50p shaped head
  11. 0-2 Villa. Both goals traore attempted crosses into the top corner
  12. Right. Quick hypothetical question. If you had the power to sign one ex-villa player this window. And you got them in their absolute prime. Who would it be? And why would they fit into this current team?
  13. I don't really think finishing is necessarily Davis's problem. I think watching Ollie Watkins shows the difference between the two in that that some players just have that innate ability to be in the right place at the right time. It's a nearly unteachable instinct but maybe Davis will learn something from watching how Watkins does it in games and training. And he will be a hell of a player when he does
  14. goal aside - cracking debut. personally i enjoyed his little one-two on the wing which brought him inside to play a beautifully weighted through ball to AEG (who subsequently paniced and hit it far too early) very classy player. for the record in the wee interview i saw of him on sky he said he got lucky with the goal - make of that what you will!
  15. thought the worst when i saw him starting at centre back - mainly because I always considered him to be a fairly slight build of a fella. But he was very composed. I suppose the likes of Cannavaro prove that its not all about having a hulking great lump at centre back
  16. I dont get it. Is the bloke on the train supposed to be Samatta? Is the First Person perspective Samatta? I s the first person perspective just some fan who breaks into the stadium? What am i missing?
  17. Well I for one am uncomfortable with how we are simply buying our way to the league title
  18. ah its practically cheating letting Mings model it - that fine speciman of a man would look good in anything!
