    We seem to be linked with a lot of strikers. Don't we really need a midfielder instead?

    Keep in mind he's playing out of position on the left and is naturally a right back. I'm a fan of his because he gives us some drive forward (even when on the left) but his ball retention unfortunately isn't great. He's lost it a few times venturing forward. I think for the moment he's the best we got, although I'd like a new LB in Jan please.

    Not sure if it's a blacklisted source. The Mirror 10 Goals and 7 assists from 16 games in all competitions this season according to transfermarkt.co.uk. I think we were linked with him at the start of the season as well though.

    I see what you're saying but it could be the other way around maybe. Bent playing off Benteke. Get the ball into Benteke from wide areas with Bent pouncing on the loose balls and/or dragging defenders away.

    I sincerely hope this is true. Lord knows we need it. Show me the money: Lambert will ask Villa owner for funds to back the talk. What has me concerned is that it says "promising young players". So more players in the mould of Lowton and Bennett? I don't think that's what we need at the moment

    Another one bites the dust... for 3 weeks anyway. How many injuries to the squad is that now? This is becoming ridiculous.

    I think he's surprisingly good at headers despite his size. Has a good leap on him. Won most of the headers that came his way on Saturday. Quite a versatile player to have on the bench.

    Was immense on Saturday. Seems like a top bloke as well. Says the right things in interviews and looks like a positive presence in the dressing room.

    Good on the lad today. Put in a decent shift and took his goal well. Heart in mouth stuff there for a few seconds. Agree it must be Bent and Benteke.

    I think the jury's still out on Lambert at the moment, but from what we've seen so far, I am not encouraged For the most part, his squad selections, tactics and formations seem to be wrong. Obviously, it's easy to say that in hindsight but surely a manager's job is to research into how best to combat the opposition? And for a majority of the games so far, that doesn't seem to be happening.
