  1. Sounds like the start of a joke.
  2. Batman v Superman. Damn what a missed opportunity. So much wasted potential is the kindest way I can put it.
  3. My brother did volunteer work for about 3 weeks in a school in Tanzania a couple of years back. There are a few organisations that you can do it through, but from memory he organised it through International Volunteer HQ.

    2016 Holiday Plans

Well I got back from my 5 week solo backpacking trip to Southeast Asia last week, and the travel itch is already kicking in. Awesome experience. If anyone is on the fence about traveling solo, do it. One of the best things I've done. You meet so many people who are in the same boat as you (especially if you're staying in hostels) and the freedom and flexibilty traveling by yourself affords you is also awesome. Oh, also don't worry Tony, I didn't become one of those backpackers
  5. Just tuned in. How are we playing? Who scored?

    2016 Holiday Plans

Backpacking Vietnam and Cambodia (and maybe Thailand) in February next year for a month. First solo travel as well so really looking forward to it. Any tips/advice welcome!
  7. I'm showing my ignorance but could the initial incident be a case of lost in translation? The Turkish were communicating to the Russian plane in Turkish/English and the Russian pilot didn't understand the warning?
  8. Seems Turkey has just shot down a Russian fighter jet claiming it violated Turkish air space.
  9. The trams are free in the central CBD area. Outside that, you still need the ticket. The trains also still require the card.
  10. Like mentioned above, stuff to do around the city include Eureka tower, the MCG Tour and National Sports Musem. There's also a decent street-art scene if you're interested in that kinda thing. The trams within the city are now free so that's an easy way to get around (especially the City Circle tram which does loops of the city). The Botanic Gardens are nice and Queen Victoria Market is good for knickknacks. Outside the city, stuff like Phillip Island, Healesville Sanctuary, the Dandenong Ranges and Yarra Valley Wineries are good visits. Again, it comes down to how much time you have. I grew up in Wellington before moving to Melbourne, so on that front I'd recommend the Te PaPa Museum (always loved that place as a kid) and visiting Mount Victoria. If you get time to go up north, you can visit the Hobbiton set at Matamata.
  11. RIP big fella. Pace and power personified. Growing up in NZ, this guy was an idol. Gone far too soon.
  12. Is that the youngest ever Galactico kid? the one who Real Madrid signed at 5 when he was on holiday with his parents, and we snapped up a while ago? Nah, Kinsella was part of Arsenal's youth academy before he came here. You're thinking of Niall Mason, who got a few minutes in pre-season if I remember right. But Mason is a right back.
  13. Just for the French/English conundrum, go to around the 2 minute mark. He didn't say anything about banning.
  14. yeah i heard 100 blues attacked it with about 30 villa inside, heard they had baseball bats. typical blues, they know no faces are going to be in there. There were 30 faceless ones there? What kind of A Song of Ice and Fire bullshit is going down in Aston? And what kind of idiots attack them? Valar morghulis.

Hey Chewie, how do I close the random Youtube video that pops up over the extended highlights?
