  1. Yes the English media by and large are shit, feckless, reactionary idiots.
  2. I remember James Richarson being quite good on channel 4 but I've never bought the Guardian, my U-11 team used zonal marking, I like it when AVB wins but I'd never call him AVB out loud and I obviously despise football pundits and the Sunday Supplement dregs. On the other hand I enjoy the PL, like Messi more than Busquets, despair when people tell me Carrick's organisational and anticipation skills and reasonable passing make him some kind of single handed title winner and I'll never defend Zlatan's bullshit, I just enjoy it.
  3. Wow, that's sad. I saw it mentioned that he had cancer but I didn't know it was so far along.
  4. Anyone got some sauce for this. It sounds tasty.
  5. Pacavelli for President! I think you need a lie down. Rob Schneider can't even play football, he's a actor.
  6. 'Zackly. It's a shame he couldn't rap, he'd be a billionaire.
  7. No trust neccessary really, I don't think it takes Emmanuel Steward to deduce that Kimbo would get flattened by anyone even remotely resemblant of good. Actual success in MMA was never attainable because of a lack of skill, but it was a good idea because $$. He clearly has the work ethic and potential to have had reasonable success in either sport had he trained consistently from his early teens. It's a shame he never grew up / trained with his cousin Rhadi really, they could both have made an impact.
  8. I think Kimbo is easy to understand. A 240lb super swole black guy with a big beard, bald top of head, cool name, cool voice, turns up to bareknuckle fights in a hummer, was one of the first to have his fights go viral on youtube. He was even "Street Certified" He's like the perfect internet sensation. I can't think of a single thing (other than legitimate fighting skill) that would have made him better received. I think he made the right move going into MMA first as well tbh, he just happened to time it well enough that some people with more money than sense needed a 'name' to launch their organisation with. He made way more money as the face of Elite XC fighting cherry picked opponents than he would have in boxing.
  9. Yacouba the hatchet man, Thank **** he's replaced Bannan, His surname is Sylla, He plays for the Villa, Yacouba the hatchet man! I'm here all week.
  10. We seem to be outnumbered in every area of the pitch. Bannan is Lambert's illegitimate son, I **** know it. That'll do it for me. Cabaye showing class we don't have.
  11. Please not 3 at the back. lowton - vlaar - baker - clark westwood - banana nzogbia bennett benteke - bent Maybe? I dunno, I hope they have 3 sent off in the first 10 minutes.
  12. If I never hear that phrase again it'll be to often. In a similar vein, the phrase "It's all about...". Some people seem to think every single thing is "all about" something which it usually isn't even partially about. Half wits.
  13. Nice find Dr! I've never seen the full fight before, I didn't think the footage existed tbh. I've seen/heard/read more interviews with Pele Reid about that fight than I've seen fights of his. That is some premium material for winding up the Klitschko evangelicals. Hopefully Fury gets his grubby hands on it!
  14. 9 days ago I thought by now we'd have offloaded at least one piece of deadwood and brought in at least one combative, defensive player to make us less resemblant of a door mat every time we take to the pitch. No such luck. I know there's 3 weeks left of the window but I am worried at the seeming lack of urgency to resolve the issues. On another note, I'd rather we put the winner of the zorb race at right back than Hutton.
  15. And they are all pantshittingly exciting. Shame that massive one (Gunganishvilli?) lost his M1 title really.
  16. The guys who've done well in the ADCC and actually are moving / have moved to MMA are pretty much the cream of the crop as far as sub grappling goes. Roger, Braulio, Lister, Maia and Palhares come to mind. Chris Weidman also impressed despite only being a purple belt when he competed and Matt Serra is coaching him. Edit - Almost forgot Vinny and Werdum, both killers and had the best match of the 2011 event. There are more great freestyle wrestlers than you can shake a stick at, and there are good judokas (Ronda, Lombard and obviously Ishii) and hopefully Khabilov is the crest of a wave of Sambo competitors wrecking everything they can lay their hands on.
  17. Yeah, sorry about the tone, I've been reading the main forum a bit too much. The antique Boxing vs MMA argument didn't help either. As far as Aoki is concerned, he's a very good grappler but to suggest he's even in the discussion for being "the" best is not realistic IMO. He's nowhere close, probably not even top 20 AFAIC. Edit - Submission grappling he's maybe top 30, if we're talking about grappling in general he's not top 50 IMO.
  18. That wasn't an experiment, it was a sideshow. Toney needed money, DFW needed ammo for his squabbling with that crusty old prick Arum and an agreement that suited both parties was agreed. I'd be too embarrassed to be involved in such a discussion in 2012 to comment on the rest of your post. By who? Certainly not anyone with the faintest idea what they were talking about. Edit - It was hilarious to see him get splayed out though.
  19. It's the i9305 model instead of i9300 I think. It's got 2gig of RAM as well.
  20. Hmm, I was expecting to be convinced in to buying a Nexus 4 but it didn't quite happen. No LTE, no sd slot, 16gb is the biggest option and a sealed battery? Not the things I was hoping for tbh. I'm not sure whether to buy an unlocked one or wait for an unlocked S3 LTE to become available here (is there one available? I can't find one). I'm a bit wary of LG's stuff in general too, everything I've ever owned from them has been sketchy (read: shit) but there's not much chance google would put it's name to something built poorly.
  21. The only bad thing about him getting the starting spot is that we don't get to watch him dick around with the other subs at half time. Last season he was way more entertaining than the actual team, I love that guy.
  22. I don't think he was struggling with the physical side at all in those games. That was a tactical naivety of thinking he could allow the likes of Samba to stand on his toes and crowd his area and just brush them aside when he needed. For the rest of his career he was probably able to do that but he learnt a valuable lesson which should really serve him well. Look, all I'm saying is if an evil billionaire organised a decathlon between the best keepers in the world, Guzan would win by ~500 points. He's a freak of nature.
