A fantastic signing at the time as he was just what we needed. He stepped up to the plate and I believe was a huge influence on the rest of the squad. I remember people saying he wasn’t a 25 million pound defender which he probably wasn’t based on ability but was worth every penny to us. It made me chuckle at the time but that misinformation is looking like it might have been correct.

Possible exceptions for very lower league or non league teams. But I want to hear a bloody good reason.

Almost makes you feel bad for complaining when Man U keep getting dodgy penalties against us. I remember reading about this, it was disgraceful example of big team bias.

City are blowing everyone away and they just have the best set of players in an efficient system. I’ve watched Man City and they’re not gripping, emotional matches that you can’t take your eyes off. Great team but it’s not very exciting to watch and I don’t think I’m alone with these thoughts. The champions elect are waiting to collect their trophy and I wonder are (a lot of) viewers losing interest so sky are looking elsewhere. Has the enthusiasm for Man City worn off and they need a new muse in a nutshell?

I have protruding discs at the bottom of my back which is causing me to run to a toilet as soon as I feel it. One and two I’m sad to say. I get up twice a night for a piss at least and drop at least four bombs a day. Car journeys forget about it lol. Could be worse squire.

The good old days

His dad (or stepdad can’t quite remember) used to play for the same Sunday league team as me. It was as he was breaking into the villa first team about 12/13 years ago now. We used to rip his dad for driving his sons car when he turned up in a new bmw not long after he joined the first team. He used to bring his little brother along who I was led to believe was also on the books. I’m sure his dad was a nose.

I was at a company do there a few years back and being the only villa fan that worked there was getting it from all angles. One old boy said what’s it like to be at a proper stadium? I replied I was more impressed with the Lego replica which took pride of place in the trophy room/ reception. It’s a dive by the way and the food was tosh.
