Jack's not ready to start a league campaign; cups perhaps and spot subs, but not a starter in this level. Blend Jim in, don't drown him. Cole has to play this season, and certainly until Benteke or Kozak are back.Vlaar, Okore, and Guzan would make me feel good about the back line, a real defensive mid would probably make me run naked thru the streets in joy.

Jerry Jones would be great for revenue and exposure, bad for player and manager acquisitions: imagine MON owning a club and you've got an idea of his personnel policies. Not convinced he's aware of soccer beyond the revenues that Latin American countries bring to his stadium to fill it up outside of 10 Sundays a year. Visiting that stadium is par for the course, it's quite the monument to sport. Hell, it's gigantic and a monument in and of itself.

If Yueng would go for 6 and Borini 14, I can't see Vlaar less than 10. Valuations of players should have risen commensurate with the increase in tv revenues, especially in purchases inside the league. If it's United they should pay higher, hate to leave them with all that Chevrolet and adidas money just sitting there accruing interest. Still not convinced Soton and the Toons aren't drinking from the same delusional fountain on their incoming transfer ideas.

On the international stage he is earning rave reviews tonight, from people not even associated with Villa. Barton slagged him for the pen on Twitter.
