    I disagree, McGinn's form was poor way before the Southampton game (where he broke his ankle). Fair enough he did start our first season well but seemed to struggle as the season developed. Don't get me wrong I like him but I just don't think he is athletic enough or consistent enough for a team with top six aspirations.

    Not much love for Marvelous as he dipped to the second page. I thought he was our best player today. Looked good running with the ball; quite an eye-catching moment that in an otherwise strange game.

    Wow, mental. Guess Wesley only has himself to blame now. He's going to be down the pecking order for sure in terms of his mental space, team preparation etc.

    Barry still strikes me as a little light, but maybe he's been working on his physique. Young seems more robust and impressed me in the Youth Cup. Suspensions in pre-season, really? Think he was on the bench for Walsall, not sure about Stoke. Yeah I like him, looks good.

    Yup, you can see Barry is training with the first-team so he must be getting there. If he has built up some conditioning and muscle then maybe he can push for a place on the bench; he needs to be involved in the pre-season games though. In a way Brad Young seems better suited for a role perhaps at least in terms of physique.

    I think Villa are hoping Wesley can just play himself into form. A major stutter today but hopefully the next game will be different.

    I've said this before but will repeat myself... My first hero going down the Villa was Tony Daley and I won't hear a bad word against him!

    I think it seems pretty obvious we are invested in Wesley; the money spent and his rehabilitation prove this. Watkins, Davis, Wesley, Barry and perhaps Alvarez will be our forward options.

    Playing as a 10 in preparation for Bailey arriving? I know it's a friendly but Buendia looked a little lost out there; initially I thought Buendia could play as a 10.

    In the first half El Ghazi had three good chances to score. I really like the guy but cannot see him starting many matches for us.

    Wesley really needed the minutes today. No real excuses for what he did there, I guess he got what he deserved.

    Looks like he needs to lose a few pounds. Apart from that didn't really notice anything from him against Stoke.

    Yes probably makes sense to give everyone game time. In fairness to your opinion I think Wesley needs game time to work off some of his 'rustiness' hence my hope he'd play perhaps a little longer.

    Be interested to see if players are playing forty-five minutes maximum or whether some will get sixty minutes?

    Who are those two imbeciles and what exactly do they know about football? I switched off after ninety seconds, absolute words removed.

    I like Nakamba and believe he has improved. There were a couple of instances where in hindsight he probably should have played and in theory we might have been stronger in midfield.
