  1. I wasn't super sold on the Forspoken demo. The combat was a mixed bag for me. I found Freya's magic to be lacking in weight and it never quite felt satisfying, while Sila's magic was the complete opposite and always felt great to use. My issue is enemies have weaknesses, so I can't just play with the flame sword magic all game. I think the game is trying some cool things with the combat, but overall it just felt like FFXV with some added shallow complexities due to spell switching. The rest of the demo didn't impress me much. The map is mostly empty just like it was in FFXV. Now, it is slightly less empty than FFXV, but that's not really a compliment, it just means there are a few more enemy camps and a few more animal spawns for you to beat up. The game is still mostly a large grass field with some ruins and a walled city every now and then. If you don't mind that then Forspoken will be fine, but this is a game that has a 40-hour main story and I'm not sure the scenery will support the story for the full duration. I also wasn't a fan of the Cuff. I absolutely detest this trend of games leading me by the hand and treating me like I'm an idiot. Fortunately you can essentially turn him off in the accessibility settings, but the 5-10 minutes I played with him set to "default" chatter was infuriating. I can't stand it. Overall I don't think I'll be buying it on launch. I might pick it up at a discount when they add it to a sale down the line, but I can't see myself playing this one at launch.
  2. I don't think this is the expansion. I think this is just a free DLC to open up the colosseums that the game shipped with. We'll likely get more content announced at a later date that will be more substantial.
  3. It's fun to see all of social media learn about depth perception in real time. What looks over the line from one angle is firmly on the line if you looked straight down on the ball from above. The only angle that matters is the one that absolved Japan of any wrongdoing, but we haven't been given that angle yet.
  4. I'm going to do a top 10 this year as while 2022 was lacking in many ways due to delays, it was still a very good year for gaming. 01. Vampire Survivors 02. Elden Ring 03. Rollerdrome 04. NORCO 05. Signalis 06. Pentiment 07. TUNIC 08. Cult of the Lamb 09. Metal: Hellsinger 10. Sifu Overall, my game of the year was Vampire Survivors. I will always put innovation ahead of iteration and Vampire Survivors wasn't just a great game, but it created a whole new genre, spawned dozens of clones, and is one of the highest rated games of all time on Steam. This game was created by a first-time developer, Luca 'poncle' Galante and what a debut it was.
  5. The recommended level for the DLC is 60-65, but a lot of players wait until they're at least 80-85 so they don't get completely melted. As for the cut-off point? You can start the DLC at any point before the final boss.
  6. I resent the use of the word "dirty". I prefer "shithouse experts" which is exactly what we are right now, and I don't mind it one bit.
  7. That final 15 minutes when we got like 6 yellow cards for all sorts of shithousery was the proudest I've been of the team in a long time. For the longest time we have been seen as pushovers that are too nice, but today we pulled out every trick in the book to be the biggest bunch of words removed imaginable and it worked. That win wasn't pretty, but a win is a win at the end of the day.
  8. 1874 isn't the focus. It's the same reason actors' names on a movie poster aren't the same size as the movie title. You want people to be able to read it, but the badge is for Aston Villa and while our founding year is important it's not as important as the words Aston Villa.
  9. Olsen looks terrified every time he plays for us. I gave him the benefit of the doubt against Man City last season as it was Man City and his first start for Villa, but he's consistently looked terrified every other time I saw him. He doesn't come for the ball, he doesn't command his box, he doesn't command defence. Our defence were also poor tonight, but I feel like if we had Martinez between the sticks they wouldn't have been as poor. I don't mean to pile on Olsen as McGinn and some others were also shite tonight, but I really do feel like the standard policy of playing your shite keeper in the cup has bitten us in the ass here.
  10. Our defence has been a weak point all game, but ultimately the policy of playing your shit keeper in the cup has likely cost us this game. Olsen needs to grow some balls and start coming for the ball rather than standing there like a rabbit in headlights.
  11. Calm and composed victory against an in-form Manchester United team. The only time in the full 90 where we looked even remotely rattled was after that freak deflection that led to their goal, but aside from that we were in control, looked like we had a plan, and carried out that plan perfectly. Time to do it again on Thursday.
  12. PS5 (disc edition) + PSVR2 bundles will eventually be on sale for the bargain price of £1,009.98 without a game. Keep in mind as well that PSVR2 does not support PSVR1 games, so those that bought into the previous generation headset will have to factor in some £50+ games onto the cost of this headset if they were to buy one. Curious to see how this pans out as sales have the potential to be atrocious.

    Unai Emery

In this instance it probably has a lot to do with all the delays. His work visa was meant to be completed yesterday, but it wasn't so he missed a training day with the squad, and the last thing the club want to be doing is PR fluff with interviews, photo shoots and whatever else instead of morning training. I am sure the OS will be full of stuff later today when he's afforded time to do all the media stuff.
  14. On top of sticking to their vision I also imagine Callisto Protocol is not a game that is easy to edit. The Callisto Protocol is gore porn like Dead Space, and just like Dead Space the main character has unique and brutal death animations for every enemy, machine, and weapon that kills him in the game. These aren't non-scripted events; these are motion captured cinematics that play to their gory end. If this game doesn't have non-gore porn versions of these death animations, then they are looking at potentially months of work to comply with regulations in a country where their game will sell 80-100k units' maximum. It's not worth their time. I definitely feel for the Japanese gamers that were excited to play Callisto Protocol, but one day a developer was always going to tell the Japanese ratings boards to **** themselves and today was that day.
  15. I think it all comes down to resources and time. Silent Hill 2 is a completely standalone story in the Silent Hill franchise, at least for the most part. There are some connections to Silent Hill 2 in Silent Hill 4, but for the most part the game stands alone which makes it a prime candidate for a remake if they have no plans to remake any other game in the series. Shattered Memories was a reimagining of Silent Hill 1, but I don't think that was counted as a remake. I think ultimately it comes down to the fact that if they remake Silent Hill 1 then they have to remake Silent Hill 3 as the two games are heavily connected. It feels very Konami to see that as too much work.
  16. The Silent Hill stream has ended. Silent Hill 2 Remake (developed by Bloober Team) - PS5/PC [12-month timed exclusive on PS5] Silent Hill Townfall (developed by No Code, published by Annapurna) Return to Silent Hill (Movie, directed by Christophe Gans) Silent Hill: Ascension (developed by Genvid, Bad Robot, and Behaviour Interactive) Silent Hill F (developed by Neobards Entertainment) Ascension seems to be the game that was rated in South Korea as "The Short Message". I have also included platforms where available, although most of these games didn't specify their platform.
  17. Resident Evil and Silent Hill both doing things in the same week, it's like the late-90's all over again.
  18. Spent the last 7 hours or so playing A Plague Tale: Requiem. It's a very good game, at least based on what I have played and a fantastic sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence.
  19. I haven't heard anything about platforms for these games. That said I wouldn't be surprised if most of these games were timed PS5 exclusives, especially Silent Hill 2 Remake given its name recognition in the mainstream.
  20. They have three full-fledged Silent Hill games in the works and a movie. Now, whether we see all of them is another story. I think we'll see Silent Hill 2 Remake considering "In your restless dreams, do you see that town?" is a quote from Silent Hill 2, it's a bit on the nose, but a tease is a tease, and I also think we'll see Silent Hill: The Short Message which is either the name of the upcoming all new Silent Hill game, or the name of the playable demo for that game. Aside from that I'm not sure what else could appear. I have heard that Annapurna signed on to do an episodic Silent Hill game, but I'm not sure how far a long in development that one is.
  21. Pain Remains by Lorna Shore Genre: Blackened Deathcore
  22. Uncharted is a massive unknown. There were rumours a couple years ago that an Uncharted project had been outsourced to an unnamed studio, and if that winds up being true it's unknown if it'll be a Nathan Drake game. Given the events of The Lost Legacy, I think my money is on Uncharted 5 (if it happens) having Chloe Frazer as the main character.
  23. Last I heard which was only a few months ago is that they have a script outline for Part 3, but full production hasn't started on it yet. Naughty Dog have a couple projects in the works right now. One is the live service multiplayer Last of Us game, which is planned for PS5 and PC, while the other project that is in full production is rumoured to have a fantasy setting, but nothing more is known aside from that. Naughty Dog have been expanding a lot over the last 12 months though so full production on Last of Us: Part 3 could potentially happen at any time.
  24. Haaland has everything in his locker when it comes to play in the final third. He scores for fun, but also isn't selfish. I can't stand Man City, but if they don't win the Champions League with him in the squad then they never will.
