I really think it is to early to rate the guy. He definitely brought some energy but didn’t do a lot. Hope he can breakthrough though.

40,800+ last night and Watford didn’t sell the full allocation. Considering our season to date, I think it is amazing that we are almost selling out. Marvelous was incredible last night. Definitely motm for me. He was a revelation. Hopefully this was his breakthrough game and he can continue to improve.

We must have been watching different games. Playing out of position, he worked his bo llocks off, was constantly moving and actually held up the ball on several occasions.

Just got home - head, chest, everything nearly exploded when we scored the winner. Feeling elated, but FFS it is stressful supporting the Villa. Great performance against the w***kers known as Watford who did everything they could to slow down the game. Martin Atkinson was a disgrace as ref. I knew Pearson’s wheels would come off tonight but waiting till seconds from end for it to happen nearly gave me a nervous breakdown. Grealish, did everything he could to drive team forward in the second, worked like a Trojan and led by example. Hause’s dodgy passing was a big problem, but he was better in the second. Al Ghazi never stopped running, Trez is limited but he never stops, great performances by Target and Guilbert But MOTM was Marvellous - absolutely stunning performance - where the hell did that come from? He now has his confidence.. Finally it looks like we can play as a team but still work to do - but we can only get better now. Smith used same tactic as 2nd half against Brighton, telling centre backs to push further up - risky but it worked. Bring on Leicester and Bournemouth! Villa Park was absolutely rocking at the end. F*** off Deeney, you fat bluenose ex-convict. A great night, UTV!

Fair enough but every good run comes to an end and the match against us could be it for Watford. Based on form and our last game v them, they will be full of confidence - hopefully too much.

Kause was terrible yesterday but it was imho a symptom of the stress throughout the team. I think it’s too early to write him off.

We need 3 points against Watford Tuesday night and Bournemouth is absolutely another critical game. 4/6 points from these two, bring in a couple of players, squad gains in confidence, get some upward momentum, survive, keep Jack and have a great season next year Have lived down here for 18 years and have never been to their ground and really hope my first visit is an away win.

We really need to get VP rocking Tuesday.. It is a huge game and could be a turning point. Troy Deeney’s mere presence will be enough to rouse the Holte End.

I agree we were dire in the 1st but the stats suggest BHA weren’t all that and there was little in it overall. BHA shots 10, on target 2, AVFC 8, with 3 on target.

I thought ref was average and that we were lucky not to get a few more cards. Agree Maupay should have been booked.

They won the 1st we won the 2nd. We deserved a draw., nothing unfair about it. This was a huge result. A loss would have further damaged the teams already fragile confidence. ****** awful game to watch but onwards and upwards - we live to fight another day and have another point in the bag!

I have issues with DS, but if we replaced him with Allardyce, I would frankly consider giving up. Can’t stand the bloke, dodgy as ****! Even given the way football is nowadays for me he would be the limit. As for recruitment, I think it is widely agreed that DS didn’t pick the players that were brought in. It’s probably wishful thinking, but I still think if we can pull off an unexpected result and get a few players in, he can turn it around. Almost certainly DS is not being replaced, we have to dig in, support him and forget bringing in dross like Allardyce.

Despite the disaster against Man city, I think sentiment towards Drinkwater will improve. He is a very talented player on his day and can thrive again, especially if we can string a few results together. He will be desperate to get back on track after three terrible years. I sincerely hope he can turn it on for us. The past is past. Do your thing Danny.
