  1. Mbwana just score a goal Like a bullet from your head Pull the trigger we’ll be ahead Your Villa life has just begun You’ll soon score the Villa winner away Mbwana ooooo, oooo Pile of **** I know but we are all desperate for someone who can score. Nothing more really Samattas to me!
  2. It’s difficult to compare. Sid could put a ball on a sixpence, win back possession and do something fantastic within the ball in the blink of eye. But he had options and was surrounded by great players. I think a better comparison is Brian Little. Up till Jack he was the most skillful player I ever saw in a Villa shirt and scored more than his fair share of goals. I am not certain which is best. Jack is obviously hamstrung by the ***** around him and I still don’t think we have seen the best of him. Hopefully we can get out of this mess and see him be even better for Villa.
  3. Maybe he has an EU passport? Wishful thinking, but you never know.
  4. It is fascinating and somewhat depressing to look back at this thread around this time last year. Obviously different league now and even bigger issues but I hope (against hope?) that DS can start to turn it round AGAIN.
  5. I doubt anyone sings it thinking ‘we’re being original’ its just another tune to which we have added our own unique words, like dozens of other football chants. There are actually relatively few that are ‘original’. If it gets the crowd up I dont see the problem.
  6. He has great movement and irrespective of the opponents that was a great pass. It is interesting to read the BBC match report tonight praising him to high heaven. Be great if he could help screw the scum in the next round! I would have him back in a shot - he can unlock defences. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51092304 On-loan Aston Villa midfielder Callum O'Hare, whose last-minute equaliser rescued Coventry against Ipswich in the second round, again played a big part, superbly creating all three goals. In front of a paltry St Andrew's crowd of just 2,697 on a foul night, Coventry set up a first meeting with Birmingham since beating them 3-2 in the League Cup at the Ricoh Arena in August 2012. Coventry are ground-sharing the 2019-20 season at Birmingham City's St Andrew's after failing to agree a deal to stay at the Ricoh Arena. Their fourth-round meeting takes place on Saturday 25 January. It did not take long for Coventry to get into their stride as, after just four minutes, O'Hare curled a beautifully weighted right-footed pass into space behind Rovers defender Alfie Kilgour for striker Biamou to run on to and tuck home with a low left-footed shot. Biamou twice went close to a second, while Dom Hyam's header was cleared off the line spectacularly by Coventry old boy Jonson Clarke-Harris. But striker Clarke-Harris was also close to a goal at the other end, heading just over only a minute after Bristol winger Alex Rodman had headed against the bar. O'Hare was Coventry's supply line again when the Sky Blues doubled their lead five minutes into the second half, sending another slide-rule pass inside covering defender Luke Leahy for Pask to blast home a stunning second. And the tie was all over six minutes later when O'Hare jinked into the Rovers box, fired in a low left-footed drive and BIamou stuck out his right foot to instinctively turn it home - his eighth goal of the season, five of which have come in the cup competitions.
  7. I have never understood this ‘unfair hype’ argument in relation to O’Hare or why he wasn’t given more of an opportunity around the first team squad. From the little I saw of him in a Villa shirt I thought he was an outstanding talent. He can dribble, beat players , has a good eye for a pass and imho has innate ability. Its obviously hard to get a real sense of whether he can step up based on his various loans but I still think we should have given him a try. Ultimately, the coaching staff know more about him and obviously feel he isn’t ready/good enough but I think we have missed a trick - but then again I am just a fan
  8. I wouldn’t have disagreed with bringing him on at some point but think starting him against a team like Man city was crazy.
  9. Yep, like the fans, they probably couldn’t fathom why he even started. He can’t defend, rarely if ever makes an impact going forward.
  10. I fear yesterdays performance was more about a team who have lost heart, direction and possibly faith in the coaching staff. Morale and confidence must be through the floor. It is very hard to see how this is going to be turned round. Starting Drinkwater with so little game time and dropping Guilbert and Targett was irrational. We then parked the bus and left all the doors and windows open.
  11. Like most I expected a loss, but 1-6 is humiliating and made worse by the fact that there was no fight. It was telling that there was only 1 minute extra time for each half. It was almost as if the players were told NOT to get stuck in. I remain hopeful but this **** is draining.
  12. I don’t blame Konsa today. Any CB would have had a mare today, the way we were set up and with a non-existent midfield in front of them who seemed more worried about scuffing their boots. There are much bigger problems in the squad than Konsa.
  13. Disgusted with how Smith set up us today! Disgusted with the gutless team performance and most of the so called players! Disgusted with the fans who ****** off! Immensely proud of those of who stayed till the bitter end and raised the roof in the 2nd half! Smith, all the players and the owners will all be gone one day but supporters ‘support’ their club through thick and thin!
  14. Got home about 9.30 but couldn’t look at anything to do with AVFC till now. I was concerned when I saw CH in the starting line up and staggered it took so long to take him off. To say he was pathetic today is an understatement.
  15. Great result! Some very dodgy performances. Unlucky not to have won. Gave away the goal. Leicester aren’t all that!
  16. Like many VT debates, the Bruce v Smith debate is so pointless. The past is past. We have to look forward and .....hope. It would seem DS is staying and if he can bring in a few players to shore up our weak squad we can hopefully progress as others fall. We have had a torrid time recently in terms of injuries, results but amazingly we are still only 8 points behind Sheff U in 8th and still in the mix with ten other teams. Newcastle, Burnley and Everton are looking very shaky again. Bournemouth whose manager many were lauding recently are falling like a stone. imho Watford, Southampton will not sustain their form. I like most was despairing of DS recently but we can still turn this round as so many other teams are also poor. Really depends on whether we can bring new players in. If we don’t, it will be a race against relegation with 5-6 other **** teams. Keep the faith onwards and upwards
  17. Best out of it. We struggle to field a decent team for the PL and frankly there was nothing there today to suggest we have any strength in depth. We must be 2-3 players and soon.
