Hopefully Randy has done what he did in the past and paid a reasonable cash deposit already to secure the deal and mean that they can't accept any bid from Sunderland. Has worked well in the past, our board doing something right for a change.

I know people will be saying how we are a 'selling club' etc...but you have to admit if that is the case, we are bloody brilliant at it. We've made a stupid amount of profit off 4-5 players in a few years, just hope we go and re invest it now.

Im still think we won't be selling. Am's comments in the Brum Mail indicate that nothing new has developed and that Downing to be fair to him is jut getting on with it and training hard. Things would only change iF Liverpool offer a 'realistic' amount of £22million plus...and lets be honest the words Liverpool and realistic don't really go together.

Me too I comfort myself with the facts that: 1. I assume our medical staff (maybe this will be the newly acquired Dr McGuiness) will be satisfied that Shay's shoulder is now sorted. 2. As such we will get three to four years out of a very good keeper. 3. He will be retiring just as Siegrist will be 22-23 and ready to take over first team duties (at least until Citeh take an interest in him!) How good is Siegrist, alot of people really rate him on here. If he is that good it means Given's age is ok as he is just a stop gap until Siegrist

Some good sound bites in the article on SSN. Just hope he matches what he's saying with performances on the pitch. Giving him the number 7 shirt is a big vote of confidence from AMC and shows ireland is a big part of this plans, time to repay the gaffer's faith Mr ireland.

Best case scenario: Arsenal buy Downing for £20m + We buy N'Zogbia & Parker & a have a little extra to put into the squad Wigan buy Wright-Phillips Liverpool put in a formal complaint because they didn't get Downing. Then they spend £40m on Matt Jarvis It would be like andy carroll all over again, forgetting to put the decimal point in can really be quite costly.

Im in two minds here. He is the best LB we have so there is the obvious temptation to play him on the other hand he was out of line last year and completely disrespectful to the club and us the fans. Baker isn't a LB and is to young to be first 11, same with Clark so we unless we buy a new LB im afraid he is our only option which makes the decision for us. He will / must play.

If the reported £12m bid is true it's an insult to both Villa and Downing. If i were him and it was true that would really put me off Liverpool.

I hope the lad come good. He has a talent and offers us something different as a more attacking playmaker than bannan and makoun. We al saw how a pre season help downing last summer hopefully it will be the same for ireland and makoun.

I don't know if it's been mentioned but make sure you're eating enough protein otherwise you won't get the maximum gain from each workout. Im currently on a programme of 5 sets 5 reps with 1min 30 between each set Day 1: Squat, Pull ups, Incline dumbell press, hand clean to push press Day 2: Deadlift, Bench, Bent over row, arnold press. Has really seen an improvment in my strength but it isnt the most effective if you just want to look good.

Watched suckerpunch tonight. If you can ignore the worst narrator voice over at the start and end in film history and put the entire plot and storyline of the movie to one side it's not that bad..... However the 4 'scences' where she goes into the fantasy world and battles samurai, dragons, nazi zombies and robots are bloody amazing. Worth buying the film for those 4 bits alone.

To anyone who has watched Game of Thrones and is considering reading the books id advise you to do it. Ive just finished the 5th book and can promise you they are the best novels you will read in a very long time. I can't think of any superlatives to describe how good they are. On a more TV related note if you are fans of Band of Brothers or the Pacific i would suggest 'Generation Kill'. An excellent series which i believe is currently on sale in HMV...

I don't think Downing will leave now unless he hands in a transfer reuqest which i doubt he will do as he will lose out on alot of money ( his agent surely wouldn't allow that). Fair play to AM and Villa setting a really high price and sticking too it. Wish we had done the same for Milner...asked for £50m or something, thing is MCFC would havbe probably payed it as well

40k-60k a week is about right. It's his chance to play for a bigger club and (hopefully) win some things and further his careeer. If he is asking for anything more it would put me off him as it would show his main motivation is money not football.
