  1. Dude, are you being naive on purpose? Snatching a few tap-ins in a matter of a few games doesn't exactly paint the whole picture. Suarez scored 18 goals in his first 12 games this season, that means he would have scored 57 goals or so in 38 games. In his last 10 games he has only four goals, so you get my point. Lots of strikers like Kozak score 3-4 goals in a matter of a few games, both because of luck and confidence, but very, very few sustain that over 38 games. From December 15th to January 11th, Danny Welbeck scored six goals in six games in the league. It happens, but you can bet your ass he won't be keeping that ratio if he suddenly plays 90 minutes the next six games. Kozak is limited and for that reason he would have gone long periods without a single goal, just like most of the players fitting into that bracket. Just look at Gabby Agbonlahor, he can look red hot for ten games and then vanish for 15 games. What is it, three goals this season for him? Kozak's four goals came against Norwich, Cardiff, Soton and Stoke, it's hardly something to strengthen the argument. Yup, I'm naive for judging a striker on the amount of goals he's scored in relation to the amount of football he's actually played. And so what if he's got a few "tap-ins", all goals are goals, it doesn't matter how they're scored. I'll repeat this again; IF Kozak kept up his goal scoring rate, he would have gotten roughly 16-17 goals this season. That's a pretty important qualifier that is conveniently not picked up on. And I've never stated I think he'd get that many also. Personally, I think if he'd stayed fit he would have gotten between 10-13 goals, not bad for a back-up strikers first season in the Premier League.
  2. It's only console versions that are censored, as they are the versions more likely to be picked up by kids. The PC version is untouched, I think.
  3. That's just shitty. No wonder you feel crap. Have a virtual hug from me. A thing I remember reading about the Boston bombings was people saying 'people are bastards', then others saying, 'well some are, but look at all the people running to help'. I'm pleased for humanity that a member of the public came to your aid.
  4. John, they're not made up stats at all. 4 in 14 is a very simplistic way of looking at it, it doesn't take into account starts and being subbed off. I used goals per minutes played, which gives 1 every 196 minutes, or 1 every 2.17 games. And if he could only play 35 games, it still gives 16 goals and the point still stands.
  5. If we don't beat Norwich, I think my patience with Lambert will finally run out. It will be the third time this season we've gone 5 games without a win, and no matter what situation we may be in, that's not acceptable. And with the 3 games that follow, it could well be only 1 win in 8 (if we beat Stoke, which I think we can). I still like Lambert and think he could be a good manager for us, but he needs to really show over the next few weeks. I'm not sure I'd want him sacked before the end of the season, I don't think that would help our situation one bit, but if we don't go on some sort of good run, I think we should cut our losses come May. I want him here in the summer, and I want to see how he could do with a biggish budget to spend on just 3/4 first teamers, but he really needs to pull out all the stops over the last 10 games imo. The style of football I can put up with, but like with McLeish, providing it actually gets results. I've said before, I couldn't give a shit if we had 1% possession with 1 shot on target each game, if it meant we won every game 1-0. But we simply aren't currently. Hopefully Lerner sells up in the summer, I don't think we'll ever progress under him again, as despite liking the attitude of "buy young and cheap, sell experienced and expensive" I don't think Lerner will ever allow us to progress onto the next stage of "buy young and expensive-ish" first team players.
  6. 1 goal every 2.17 games, his stats speak for them self, whether you can see it or not is different all together, if he kept up his goal scoring rate he would have gotten between 17-19 goals this season. Or lets put it another way, if it wasn't for Benteke last season, he would be on course to get our highest league goal tally for a single player since Yorke in 96/97.
  7. Well, he would have gotten between 17-19 goals if he kept up his goal scoring rate, not too bad eh?
  8. Got 143. I'm gonna say it may not be entirely accurate as that would put me in the top 0.2%, which I don't think I am somehow.
  9. When has a black armband ever been put on a flag? Yet alone for someone completely unattached to that country. It would achieve nothing as well. If someone should do something it should be someone like the UN to step in and say "it's not OK for someone to host a global event when effectively using slave labour". If the FA's are left to be the ones to do something about it, they should boycott the tournament, but that will never happen.
  10. Probably little, but then again CEO's are businessmen, they don't need football experience, every club has a businessmen as their CEO. What we lack is more of a football adviser, personally I'd say we need a Director of Football, but for some reason that's taboo in this country.
  11. Lucky escape for Chelsea! Not so lucky anymore
  12. Personally, I couldn't give a shit about the cost, they deserve to rot for the rest of their life. Why should two people, who have not only committed murder, but have also caused huge traumatic experiences, for not just family members but for people who witnessed too, get the mercy of a quick death? The death penalty is much more than they deserve, the best punishment for stuff like this is to just let them rot and stew over what they've done, let them deal with their own psychological damage for the rest of their live, not give them a quick out and the chance to be revered by other fundamentalists.
  13. Great start for Cheslea, Galatasaray have been a bit shit though. Well played by Torres to lose his markers.
  14. The speed of light is relative to the speed of light passing through a different medium. (If I've understood your use of the word "relative" correctly.) Think of "C" as an upper limit for the speed anything can move, Like zero is the slowest. The example I had in my head was that a car is traveling along a road and is overtaken by another car, now the speed of the overtaking car is obviously dependent on who is observing it, e.g car b is traveling at 20mph relative to car a but 80mph relative to someone who is at rest on the side of the road. Take it to extremes though and imagine the car is traveling at 180,000 miles per second and flicks on its headlights, it doesn't matter whether you are in the car or observing from the side of the road the light still travels at 186,000 miles per second. I guess this goes someway to explaining why time slows down when approaching the speed of light because when you travel faster in space, time must slow down to compensate. Fascinating stuff which I'm only just starting to get my head around. Nail head, pretty much. Light is essentially the base plane of relativity, no matter what speed you're travelling at. If you're travelling at the speed of light, the light will move away from you, at the speed of light, but will also travel at the same speed for someone standing still. Or as put in the theory of special relativity, The speed of light in a vacuum is the same for all observers, regardless of the relative motion or of the motion of the light source. It's been a while since I did studied relativity, so I can't remember too much about it, but time only slows for the observer, which is why light stays the same in every plane, it's a physical constant, so it's constant for everyone. Time slows simply because when you're going so fast, everything else seems to be going incredibly slowly, but to them they are still travelling normally. It's very complicated, obviously Essentially, light may have a speed, but it's also a universal constant, so doesn't change. In Layman's terms, 1 second is the same speed for everybody, but appears to travel at different speeds when observed by others not travelling at the same speed. I've probably complicated things more, as I said I can't remember it too clearly, but I hope that helps somewhat. It's very interesting to learn about, but very difficult too.
  15. Can't wait to get this game! Looks like it's just a playable version of the show, which would be brilliant. The 4th of March is also Pancake day, it will be a good day
  16. RVP has played 15 league games this year and scored 11, I wish our effortless striker had a similar record
  17. He has, but then said he'd like to play against Strachan and Scotland after the draw, so is considering coming out of retirement. If he can play Internationals, and Internationals only as he no longer likes domestic football, he'll most likely play, especially against Scotland and Ireland.
  18. If that's a worry, surely they could organise some sort of yearly friendly against the big teams?
  19. He's at the front, but the cameraman was too tall to get him in the photo.
  20. To be fair, they've not won since he was appointed. Also just noticed he was appointed on my birthday, couldn't have asked for much of a better present Maybe next year Blues will get dissolved...
  21. Whilst I agree to some extent with the rest of your post, I think a midfielder was a bigger priority, though it wasn't hugely clear in the summer, I don't think Lambert could have done much else with the Tonev situation. How would the fans have reacted if it was revealed that Petrov, just weeks after becoming a part of the backroom staff, suggested a player that he thought would be good for Villa, only to be rejected by Lambert? I'm sure that would have gone down like a lead balloon. Of course he would have scouted him with other scouts, or at least you'd hope, but it was also the off season, so not much to go on really. Maybe not the right reason to buy someone, but it was a risk, based on Petrov's judgement being sound, and it has backfired. But I reckon they're might have been some grumbles if we didn't sign him as Petrov suggested him.
  22. I totally agree. Does Randy agree though …. or is he still sorting that new contract out? I don't think he ever was.
