  1. Here's what Ritchie de Laet had to say about Bruce's training. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/football/ex-villa-defender-de-laet-criticises-bruces-training-methods/ar-BBZXxpd
  2. I reckon we must've been cursed by Whelan. He scored the equalising goal in that 2-2 draw v Stoke whilst we were at our highest point this century, which triggered our 10-12 game winless streak to miss out on the CL that year, and ultimately sent us spiralling for years to come, only to miss a penalty for us years later at what may have been one of our lowest moments since, which got Bruce sacked and triggered our revival. I think Glenn Whelan may be an ancient deity that we should worship...
  3. Is this strictly true? I'm happy to be corrected (and this may be something for another thread) but I thought that whilst Mussolini was originally a Socialist, by the time he had founded his newspaper and party, he'd denounced orthodox Marxism and deemed it a failure?
  4. Decided to check out Rule 11 as it was "onside according to the rules" and spotted this... Quelle surprise, you can't challenge an opponent from an offside position... Also italicised the bit being used to justify it, but Rodri doesn't receive the ball from Mings, he **** tackles him, so that surely shouldn't apply.
  5. To be fair, I think it's pretty much only English football that doesn't name a squad until the day of the game. Other sports like Rugby and Cricket will annouce a team a day or two before, and there was a bit of pearl-clutching earlier in the season when Bielsa named his squad early - which is something he's done a few times, and gotten articles written about it every time - so I think it's a fairly usual thing outside of English football. Personally, I've always found it weird that teams are announced just an hour before kick off, I really doubt how much it could affect preparation by leaving it so late, it's not like we'd be thrown for a loop not knowing if it will be Silva or Mahrez starting tomorrow for example.
  6. Apparently it's a bit of an elephant in the room that he's been nowhere near as good since they moved to a back four and Nuno up until now has avoided the awkward situation of dropping his captain.
  7. Another Academy player going out on loan. I did wonder whether the Liverpool game would put a few of them in the shop window for lower league sides, I assume that game gave a few teams the confidence that they could perform at the senior level.
  8. Was unsure who I wanted to win this game, but seeing Wolves fans crying on social media is much more fun than the Baggies getting more depressed.
  9. So, here's a long thread from a few months ago about how that guy got kicked out of a load of "leftist"/protest groups. TL:DR - The guy got kicked out of a load of left wing groups (some advised a "complete and total, national lockout" of him from all left wing groups) because he was suspected of being an infiltrator to stir shit up and had loads of ties to the far right/Proud Boys. What was that about projection?
  10. Can't have Manager of the Month curse if you don't play any games the next month.
  11. With Poch going to PSG, I actually worry that we may see that front three soon...
  12. Only team to not beat us when we went down as well
  13. As funny as him getting banned from twitter is, it seems to have overshadowed that he;s going to be impeached, again... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-55596325 And given he basically lost the GOP the senate out of spite, pissed of a lot of the GOP senators and the fact they can use it as a "**** you buddy" on his way out, there's a much better chance of it working this time.
  14. First thing I'd point out if I was Delaney, was that Palace lost 7-0 only a few weeks ago to this team, so losing 4-1 when only getting called up about a day beforehand is a brilliant result.
  15. Please show me the news article from when the BLM protests forced their way in to the House of Congress.
  16. It's almost as if they think that everyone is trying to make them look bad with false flag operations because that's exactly what they try to do
  17. Whilst he is still President his tweets are an official form of Government communication, there would be a shitstorm if Twitter banned him. As soon as he's out of office however, I wouldn't be surprised if he's immediately kicked off.
  18. I think that may be the most American thing I've ever seen.
  19. Bloody Biden! I wonder if the MSM will have the balls to call him out for telling Antifa to storm the capitol disguised as Trump supporters? (I have genuinely seen people try to claim that it is "Antifa" doing this...)
  20. No wonder it's the Trillion Trophy stadium if that's what they include as "achievements". Presumably there's one for every club in the world that they have done less than but they have been doing **** all for longer.
  21. Unfortunately not, seems all the games below them have been called off.
