  1. Come to think of it if the defence got sorted and Lambert gets his 3 man defence idea working you could have Clark between the mid and defence to break up play and would allow the midfielders to push up. Sylla is exciting to watch at times, never quits.
  2. He's bossing it at the minute. Total workhorse, like Reo-Coker was only Sylla is handy on the ball. Seems to be working well with Delph who is starting to show good signs too. Pair of them are like terriers.
  3. The Mirror was running a story about Ferguson looking for a new number 2 on the day he retired. They haven't a clue so I doubt they're on the money with anything Benteke related.
  4. I feel hard done by, a point would have been fair. I think the lads played well and with lots of energy. It was naive from Benteke to make that challenge, it was innocent enough looking but he should have been thinking about the yellow he was on. The behaviour of Chelsea near the end of the game was awful and petulant. Cech not giving Weimann the ball for the corner, players rolling around on the ground for no reason and Ivanovic acting a tool with the bottle. It just sums Chelsea up for me, they have no honour. Bad taste in my mouth after this game, I feel sorry for the lads but a performance like that against Wigan should do it.
  5. McGrath, Laursen and Milner. I'd love it if Milner fancied a move in the summer. He'd be the perfect midfield anchor.
  6. His agent reckons he'll stay. http://m.442.com.au/News/Article.aspx?CIID=341853 If players start to show faith and don't bail for more cash then things could turn around and finally some cohesion will set in.
  7. We're Aston Villa. It's about bloody time the club behaved like it. Why should we be concerned about a massive bid for Benteke? Who's going to offer that kind of cash? Liverpool? They're cack! Hold on to our best players and build. I reckon Benteke will stay, so does Delph by the sounds of it http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22366447
  8. I've said it before, Clark should be in midfield. In between the defence and the middle, he's suited to that role. Good interceptor, moves it forward and likes to press up. He even gets a goal every so often!
  9. yep, that's looks anti Israel It's anti Israeli policy. Very different from being anti-Semetic. I love this media hate campaign of twisting something someone says to be some sort of racist/genocidal/ignorant thought. Chavez wasn't a great political leader but he's paved the way. Hopefully someone with a better political mind and Chavez's balls comes into power. South America needs bold leaders that are willing to tell the developed nations to beat it and develop their own economies.a The days of Europe and North America running the show are over, China has huge control over Africa and South America will hopefully continue giving the West the Bird.
  10. If that's true then Jol is off his rocker.
  11. Any legs on this Coutinho story? Possible loan deal? He was at Espanyol last season so maybe Inter just want to loan him out.
  12. Given his ability to intercept, move forward and pass well I think he would be better suited in a DM role. I'm pretty sure he's played this role successfully at some point before.
  13. Victoria is a cracking wee city. Would love to make it to Villa Park for a game against West Brom.
  14. Maybe he just wants to play football and money isn't a huge issue.
  15. Should be as simple as "2 mil? Done! See ye later James."
  16. Do you think Pardew wants him back? They've made some great signings since he left and they've done well without. I don't think he's going anywhere and his Liverpool move was hasty and may have damaged his career.
  17. 15 million for a player that cost 35 million not so long ago. No doubt he's capable of being a great striker but I just don't see it working. I think Bent could be banging them in this year with the right service, why do we need to drop another 15million+ for another striker? Isn't this what we were moving away from!? I call BS on this link.
  18. I remember how hard I laughed the first time I'd read that. Lambert appears to be much more intelligent and capable than the recent appointments. Also, he's hungry and I honestly believe he intends on sticking around for a while.
  19. There's nothing wrong with cheering on homegrown players, if the team forms naturally that way then so be it. I think some sort of enforcement would be detrimental to the club, actively looking for home-grown players even though there are better options from abroad would make progression much tougher.
  20. Oh and sidetracking aside, 2mil isn't bad for someone who looks decent. The worst is if he's a squad player and not a revelation.which is fine because I'm hoping for a rotation for once.
  21. Yes just as long as the core of the team remains British. this is important in my opinion. I couldn't give a stuff where they came from as long as they are good, improve us and enable us to compete a lot higher up the table Absolutely I agree but for this to happen the majority of the squad should dare I say "need" to be British. This is a British club competing in a British league. To fill the team with a smorgasboard of nationalities cannot help team bonding. The National Front called and left a message. "Welcome to 1981."
