The thing with him is he is not a much team player so he would suite a ream like us more than Barca. His pace is frightening. The this with it is hes good technically. Let him see some space and he will try his own. Double check him and the Gil Grealish could have more fun. Really excited by this team. If the result was a draw the goal taste would have been a lot better. Id start him against Notts and atleast give him half an hour against Sunderland.

Id argue as we already have Kozak who is a poucher and Gestede who is overall better than Bent. Neither played our first game nor those three. Infact we were the least team creating chances in the first two games *looks familiar lol*. Few chances you could say a better striker could have put it. We could argue about the goal scorers when these players are back. I think Kozak would do Bent job if needed. Its more than Bent quality which we are asking for, an improvement in what we have already so we could feel more comfortable.

Other than Villa and some Spurs fans, why is the hate for this guy? I could accept the hating alone but why is he really underrated from other fans ? Many people hate mourinho yet they know hes one of the best out there. Tbh he did a fantastic job for us either last season or during the summer. Ok he had couple of mistakes which even great managers do it. Yet many other fans dont look at that.

Ive just checked. Yes Smalling contained him and hes shorter than him by 1 cm. But still there were flashes which would suggest hes still a beast. Benteke has been contained a few times too in terms of aerial balls. Dont forget the positioning of Gabby and Ayew was awful.

We could do with shifting Kozak, Sendros, Zog, Tonev. That could free up more than 75k in terms of wages. Which the other three would cost less than it for sure. we could get 4m from them combind if we are lucky which would sortout Oulares fee.

I think we could try something like 442 where hes upfront with Gestede. Adama on the right Bacuna or Scott in the left and see how it goes. He will give defenders hard times dealing with crosses and give Gestede much freedom.

What his actual position anyway ? From what ive seen in the clips he seem a central striker or maybe behind the striker. His presence was better than Gabby in the first half against Utd comparing to Gabby against Bournmouth. But still I couldnt say hes a proper striker. Maybe being new and the fact its against Utd could affect as wevecouple of games were we havent seen Benteke but we havent doubt his ability as weve seen. Now im not saying this guy is as Benteke or even Gestede as i was frustrated by his game the other day but i think we need to see him in a game where we are dominating. I had very good impression from him. The worry is how would he deal with players taller the him as Smalling ? Although he wasnt bad in aeral duels even with him.

Cleverly havent settled until end of last season. Although there could be an arguement about Lambert tactics. But still he had bag of PL experience comparing with this guy. Id also say the play wasnt on our favour most of the game. Without missing the fact hes new. Im more concerd about the other Jordan. Ayew seem to be our new Weimann in being one of the most amusing players in the pitch. Although he had some good tackles but he kills every oppurtunity which amuses me a lot.

Thats without saying he only played for around 30 mins.

There were a lot of games last season where Benteke played like this either because of our or their tactics. Anyway he hold the play good and pass it well. Flashes of quality even after this whole performance. We missed the creative spark.

Couldnt ask for more. Might be little fear from what we saw in the first half. But we played some good balls during the 2nd half. Maybe no much creativity but considering that its many players first game and without our main creative players in Gil and Grealish. what encouraged me a lot and made my expectations was Gestede beast mode. Could give the same effect of air balls as Benteke. Might not be as good on feet yet hes a really bright signing for the club hopefully. Amavi and Gueye had good games.
