  1. Well, i like him. Not sure , apart from Lee Mack, who is any good tbh.
  2. Forming a nice partnership with Benteke, created one yday, could have created 1 or 2 more as well.Should have scored himself as well. Developing into a very good player.
  3. Hes too slow at this level, no accelerartion, gets drawn out of position, does'nt anticipate danger, not the best footballer. Not a top Prem player, lower Prem/Championship player at best. The trouble is, who do you replace him with?Herd, too small, and erm?, thats it. The incompetence of the management is imcomprehensible.
  4. He'd walk into Spuds, Arse, Chelsk, even Citeeeehs teams imho, and only RVP would keep him out at Ure. A real shame we can't have him for 3/4 years. The ineptitude of the owner and manager has put paid to that.
  5. Andy Lockhead and Sammy Morgan were the toughest players i saw play for Villa. "Chopper" Harris said Andy Lockhead was the hardest player he played against. Mick Harford was one that Vinnie Jones would'nt mess with.Apparently when he joined Wimbledon, the usual japes of Jones and Fashanu for new comers were conveniently forgotten.
  6. He has all the attributes to be a top class LB/wing back. He's quick, has good feet, a good cross, energetic, and likes a tackle. He is only 21, its his 1st season in the Prem, and its no coincedence his 2 best games were against Walcott and Lennon when he had to concentrate. He needs to improve his concentration levels, and needs a bit of help on the field about when to tackle and when to stand off. He will be a better player for us than Lowton, who i think is average at best.
  7. An improvement on Bannan and Delph, but similar to both, a bit too small, and lacks presence.Has a good pass on him, and is a busy player.Needs to play alongside a bigger player..Silla?, and he would be fine. Still think if he is a 1st teamer next year, then we could be in trouble again as we lack presence in the centre of midfield.Get a "beast" in the middle of our midfield, and it would make a hell of a difference.
  8. Low cost base. Turnover £100m, wage bill this season, £50m? max. Allows £30/40m leeway, plus allowed losses of £100m over 3 years for an opportunity for a wealthy individual/organization to "have a go". Just my thoughts, and some expert on TS anyway.
  9. After the vote on Thurs, i am now convinced he is trying to sell up.It adds up, reducing costs, making it more attractive, keeping options open.
  10. Shit atttude, no fight, no desire, lacklustre........thats why he does'nt play
  11. Bannan the new scapegoat.Left with too much to do in the 1st half, PL got the tactics wrong, 2nd half kept the ball moving quickly, but is too weak sometimes, and gets brushed off the ball too easily. Not up to it, but at least he tries.A choice of Ireland or Bannan.
  12. If we stop up, then get rid of the dross, and build our team around him. As good a striker as i have seen down VP, as good as Yorkie, AGray, Sir Brian.Worth more than £25m in my books. If we go down, he deserves better.
  13. Bannan has half the ability of Ireland put twice the heart. He has half the pace of Gabby, but twice the enthusiasm. He may not be great, Bannan, but at least he tries, and he puts 100% in, them 2 above are an absolute disgrace. And if Clark is a good player, then so am i, useless, don't want to see them 3 players in a Villa shirt ever again.
  14. I would'nt trust Warnock tbh. I got to the stage last year where i thought Warnock and Dunne were purposely playing shite to get us relegated, that og was an absolute disgrace, and as for his performance against Swansea. Shame really, because when he 1st came i really liked him, not sure what happened but he completely lost his timing, and consequently his effectiveness.Could'nt attack either.
  15. For me the best full back at the club.Is not there yet, but has good pace, defensively quite good, good feet, good cross. Not that hes going to be as good as, but reminds me of a young Asley Cole.
  16. Fantastic insight yet again CI. Benteke is a better player than Bent, much as i like Bent, the system played yday suits us better, and suits Weimann/Gabby/N'Zog better, that is why PL persists with it and why Bent does'nt play. Personally i'd sell him, he has done a good job for us, his debut was a magical night, but time for both sides to move on.
  17. For me Boggies are our natural enemy.Longest rivals, closest rivals, and were i came from, Perry Barr, more numerous, and more rivalry. We did give them there nickname, and i don't want them to like us, i quite like that most of their supporters dislike us more than they do the Wolves.
  18. As a manager, you get judged on the players you buy, and what you do with the players you have inherited. For me, yday proved 2 points.PL is a good manager, and the "academy" players aren't quite good enough. Benteke, is as good a foward as i've seen at VP, and he cost £7m, absolute bargain. On top of that Westwood looks a very prospect, what a pass for the 2nd goal, and Ron Vlaar looks a snip at £3m.Bennett will prove to be a bargain, and Lowton, will be at the least , a good squad player. So that's HIS signings. N'Zog, had probably his best game yday, playing as a floating player behind Benteke, and has shown a good attitude since coming back.good management, or coincidence? Gabby has shown hes a good squad player at the least, Weimann has developed into a 1st teamer.Guzan has been given a chance, and his performances have justified it, again good management. We are not far off.
  19. HH, and VC may be right, there may be no further investment by RL, maybe he has had enough and decided to rein in his spending. But that would'nt make sense. His investment , AVFC, would diminish in value significantly if we were to be relegated. It would be like owning a house and refussing to repair a leaky roof, a little investment would secure the property, and maintain its worth. Maybe its a ploy. The Jan transfer window is notoriously expensive, maybe PL, and RL, are playing a game of poker with the agents, and waiting for better terms, and expectations of them before doing any deals, otherwise i do think we are in trouble.
  20. If 'Arry wants Bent, then swap him for Diakate and M'Bia plus £3/4m.Bent won't keep us up, them 2 might, and it still leaves us with about £10m to spend
  21. He is our most important player......everything goes through him, his 1st season in the Prem, he's 21, he's going to have lulls in his performances. I thought he played ok last night, created nearly all the chances, and played well with Bent imho.
  22. Bannan's a nice footballer, but unless he plays alongside a beast of a midfielder like Diame, or Sandro for example, then he is too much of a lightweight.Bannan is the kind of player, that if you have faith in him, you build your team around. He would need at least 2 defensive minded midfielders alongside him imho. Xavi has Busquets behind him, who is an incredibly underrated player.
  23. Reminds me of Dean Glover, good on the ball, a nice footballer, but too slow and too weak to play CH.A 4th division CF could/should have got about 3/4 goals last night, and that was down to Clarks inadequacies.A nice bloke, but not good enough.
  24. Lescott, 30, for £10m, or Olsson, 27? for £3m...........Olsson from the Boggies for me, and then use the money to buy Adem, whatever his name is from St Etienne, and then get Sissokho , who is out of contract in the summer.
