  1. Showed good feet and pace against Malaga, but tried to score every time he got the ball.Needs to play on tuesday and be told that he is a team player.Still would persist with him Gabby Benteke and Weimann in the team as it will offer plentyof pace and scoring opportunities.
  2. He's not though is he? As i said , played well against Spuds and Arse in partic, had a good game against Ure in both games, his 1st season in the Prem, cost £2/3 mill?, some people have too high expectations.Mind you according to some, they're all shite.
  3. Think it was Lowton who put the ball through to Weimann, not Westwood.
  4. I'm with Isa here. For me Delph and Sylla would be my first 2 choices, with Kea coming in for either.Westwood for me needs replacing, probably by Weimann or Tonev atm, but hopefully with a £10m player. But i do have to agree with Isa, for me Westwood IS the problem, not KEA.
  5. Needs to strenthen up.He has good pace, good feet, a good cross, but does seem to suffer from lack of concentration.Against Lennon and Walcott last year he was very good, but shit against Bradford and Norwichx2. He has a touch of Bale about him to me, and reminds me of Whittingham.I still think he could bee a very good left sided midfielder.
  6. I said it all last year.Bennett is a better FB than Lowton, but when he has a bad one, he has an absolute stinker. For me Luna is just a bit more solid than Bennett, so worth his place, Lowton is a wing back, or a wide midfield player, never anticipates danger, and is beat far too often. You could put both goals down to him yday, but he only cost £1m, so for that he is a bargain.
  7. Not enough though Swerbs and Ponky.I know they are in a different league, but watch the passing of Ozil and Eriksen at Spuds and Arse, there passing is exquisite. Now i don't think Westwood is a bad player, just not as good as some seem to think, i personally think Carruthers would be better in this role than Westwood, but we need to get a good player to play in this role.A Belhanda, Lestienne, will move us up a few places, and maybe convince CB to stay another season.
  8. Luna was too isolated yday.Delph, and Westwood in partic should have closed him down quicker, and better.I like Bennett, i think we should think about moving him more foward.
  9. I'm not sure Westwood or Lowton are as good as we think.Westwood is a tidy player, nice pass, but has'nt got a killer pass. Not mobile enough, or aggressive enough to displace Delph or Sylla, or even KEA, not creative enough, threatening enough, to play alongside them. Personally my team would'nt have Westwood or Lowton in atm, they both need to be taken out of the firing line.Tonev and Bacuna and Sylla in for me.
  10. Good Luck to him, a nice little footballer, just not good enough for where we want to be. That was a good pass to Albrighton though.
  11. Sergio Canales was mentioned earlier...........a couple of years ago he was at Santander and looked a real potential superstar, then went to RM, and got a cruciate knee injury.Gone to Valencia, but not sure how he has been getting on, has he recovered from his injury, anywhere near his best? If he is, and his value is £4/5 million, then he is an absolute bargain at that, and still only 22.
  12. I like Bennett, but atm would play Luna ahead of him.Bennett needs to develop strength and knowledge of the game, and has the abilities to be a very good player, but at the moment Lunas football know how puts him ahead of Bennett. Not meant to be an outright comparisson but he reminds me of Bale.
  13. More importantly though KC, we need a no 10, who can beat a bloke, and create chances in the final 1/3rd...we have'nt got that kind of player. Vlaar and Baker can play alongside Okore.
  14. Out of all the players we have been linked with as a no 10 kind of player, i have to say i think the player who looks the best footballer is Lestienne. If he is available at £10m, then i think he is the one i would go for. It appears Will Hughes has a £15m price tag on him, not for me at that price tbh.
  15. Rather have Lestienne, Fischer or Will Hughes than Moses tbh.
  16. , Isa has always struck me as a knowledgeable poster, so was a bit surprised at his view on PL, as i thought.
  17. Not sure PL has'nt got a good knowledge of the continental markets Isa.Benteke, Okore, and Helenius would suggest otherwise. They are possibly moving in the level we need to move in the next couple of years, the £5m-£10m market. Our next signing has to be a good quality no 10, for about £10m.that would then put us on, at least par with Everton, Soton, and probably Lplop in my opinion.
  18. Bentekes value though, ender4, like Bale, gives you the opportunity to gamble, in a business sense.PL knows he could get over £30m plus for Benteke whenever he wants to sell, so this means he can take a gamble on a young up and coming attacking player, and not be overly concearned if it does'nt work. Helenius, Tonev, and some of the players we are linked with, are players who , if developed right, could double, triple, quadruple , their value.Get 3 or 4 in the team at the same time, all of a sudden you are a very good team.Spuds have bought some very good players with the Bale money, and look a better, stronger team because of it.We could try and buy the kind of players that Spuds are, in the hope that we can fit them in alongside Benteke, with a view that , when the right offer comes in for the club, we can sell, and bring the next one in. PL has shown he has an eye for a good young player who is going to appreciate in value, it is an ability that should be encouraged, and indulged.
  19. I think we get caught up in too many "pigeon hole" descriptions. The days of Hoddle like players are probably gone unfortunately, the modern day central midfielder needs to be pacy, strong, and athletic, if they have a bit more to the game, like Wilshire and Gerrard, then that is a bonus. What Delph has given us is a mobile, pacy , aggressive player who can close people down quickly, likes a tackle, but does'nt dive in, and can play a bit of football.I particularly like his new found confidence, and turn of pace that enables him to get away from players, he has'nt quite got the hand of picking the final pass yet, but when he does he will be as good as Wilshire, and i think he has it in his game.He has a better pass in him than Westwood, but is not as consistant in his passing as Westwood.
  20. Looks a cracking player, i thought he and Vlaar played very well last night. £4?, bargain!
  21. I partly agree with you Con, Delph is'nt one of the old fashioned box to box midfielder, a la Bryan Robson, but hes one of the new modern midfielders, in that he has an all round game, but is mobile, and pacy.He has the capacity to pass, but not greatly, he can tackle, but not like Trevor Hockey, and he han close down space, and support attack and defence both as equally well, KEA and Sylla are also similar. What we do lack is a player to play alongside them, who offers a bit more quality, and more of a goal threat.Good as Westwood is, he has'nt got the mobility of the above 3, but does'nt offer enough of a goal threat to cement his place in the team. For me, i said it last season, Delph and Sylla/KEA, is a good midfield base to play a quality no 10 alongside.Delph has the ability to be a very good player, hes not as good as Wiltshire, but he would play very well alongside him.Turning out to be the player we all hoped he would. Cheeky offer to have Mata on loan?Mourinhio does'nt seem to like him.
  22. Fully agree Robbie, a nice footballer who is imho not quite good enough. He did play well against Reading though.
  23. Well they won't get £15m for him atm.Rooney is apparently valued at £30m, Benteke was too expensive for Spuds at £25m, how will Derby get more than £10m? If hes as good as some on here think, then Villa would be an ideal stepping stone for someone like Hughes, with a generous sell on clause to appease Derby. As someone suggested earlier, offer Ireland as part of the deal, hes not going to move, hes got a year left on his contract, and nobody has come in for him.Pay the majority of his wages, could suit all parties.
