  1. Our best player this season. Without his goals we would be further down the table. Despite the amount of chances he gets a game I still cannot see any of our other three strikers converting the amount chances that he has had. He has carried us.
  2. He needs a lot of time without unnecessary pressure. We have a lot of declining players and our best players do not even belong to us. I am looking forward to this window and the summer one.
  3. I have already said I don't think promotion will happen with this team & despite DS saying that he wants Top 2 he has to be realistic. It is very unbalanced team. Back four and our central midfield are not good enough. We lack real quality in passing and movement. The only player that contains both of those attributes is currently injured with an unknown injury & when he does play he does not really score often or makes assists. If we did not have Abraham we would be in the bottom half of the table. There has to be a serious rebuild. Our top players last season have declined rapidly. i.e Chester, Adomah, Kodjia. Our best players are loan signings which makes it slightly more difficult to rebuild because they need replacing. For me, I will take this season for what it is.. a rebuild. If we scrap playoffs then good. What I would like to see is us sign players that fit with DS philosophy and actually belong to this club.
  4. Well some ITK on twitter has received some news that could impact our season, we don't know how serious this is. I think it may have something to do with Abraham or Grealish.
  5. Very weak comment. As fans we are here to support the club that we love. When things are going well we should be happy and praising aspect of our performances, management ect. A lot of fans on here do this. However we have a small segment on here that always pop of with their usual negativity when we run into a bit of bad form. When we are performing well and getting results they tend to be absent showing very little praise to that present time.
  6. Always frustrates me when the typical negative posters pop up when things are going bad but when things are rosy they are no where to be seen.
  7. Purslow said that promotion this season is not essential. He said that he is aware that it is going to be a long process. We wouldn't have started next season with Abraham or Axel anyway. Man Utd rate Axel very highly and they want him amongst the first team next season. Abraham is going to get his shot at Chelsea.
  8. I wouldn’t say that we’re in big trouble if we don’t make the playoffs. The table is a reflection of where we are currently as a footballing team. More patience is needed as Fans.
  9. We have players that are considered quality in this league however for this DS side we are lacking a few things that shows signs that we are in need of a rebuild. I dont think FFP is a major problem for next season. I think defensively we need a pair of strong athletic centre back that are reasonably okay with the ball in possession. Our full back position on both sides are key because ideally we want good defenders however we need full backs that can contribute to our fluidity on the ball and attack. I'm going to use the word fluidity again. I think without Grealish we lack that sophistication and fluidity in midfield to set up attacks. During the course of this and the summer transfer window, we need 2/3 CM that are more tactically aware on the ball, know what is required of them with regards to movement, creating space, with a good 1st touch. Promotion will not happen this season because we are not ready and we cannot rely on this transfer window to fix everything. DS is a thinker and he obsesses with the fine details of this game. I would love for him to have his additions ready for pre-season next summer buying into his philosophy seeking to tear this league to shreds next season
  10. Interesting because we do lack a creative player in the middle of the park especially to replace or challenge Grealish. I am taking any link with players in this league with a pinch of salt though. No way we have brought in this new recruitment team to sign Championship players..
  11. DS will want to have a look at him before making a decision. Part of DS recruiting at Brentford was signing players that did not make it through the youth system such as Mepham at Chelsea. He may not be a lost cause.
  12. Remember watching his performance against Derby County in the league cup. They tore him to shreds. We need long term solutions at the club.
  13. I cannot see us looking at Brentford to strengthen our defence. We are certainly looking abroad for reinforcements & it would not surprise me if we are looking in Spain for a left back too. I am looking forward to what type of players we are going to sign. But I doubt that we are going to look in this league for players to improve us.
  14. He is not awful, he has been one of our more consistent players. He made an error. We move on its only football.
  15. I was never expecting automatic promotion. Purslow said that promotion is not a must for this season so i am pretty calm about this season. Dean Smith needs to lay down is foundations and build a squad that can challenge without the reliance on loan players. Our defence is severely weak. I think that Chester is declining also. Fair play to leeds they have a squad that have been hit by injuries and they have managed to pull off a result like this.
  16. Just had a listen to Purslow's interview. He mentions that Liverpool's fortunes changed for the better when they signed a quality defender and goalkeeper. I can see us spending heavily in defence in January. I personally think that Heaton is on the radar but he is not our first choice. Pitarch would not have been brought in to identify a back up goalkeeper for Burnley. I believe that we will make 3/4 signings. GK - A signing Abroad LB - perhaps a loan signing CB - Our future CB for years to come. DM - one that is very good in possession and making interceptions - perhaps a poor mans Gana or Kante.
  17. He had an interview on 5 live this morning. https://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/player/m0001mpx 32.30 A lot of people are mentioning that it was insightful.
  18. Your outlook on this topic is pathetic. To have a short sighted view on someone else's struggle is astonishing.
  19. Racism in football will never die unless people actually accept that it is still present. Turning a blind eye to racism and passing it off as something else is equally as bad as the aggressor. This conversation does need many more legs and this has to be addressed for awareness.
  20. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy each game. To think about stats and points accumulation is for the backroom staff to do. We are playing well and there is more to come. I am curious to see how we will perform against Albion because they are a very good side with Premier League players. I am unsure on how our defence will cope with Gayle, Rodrigues, Barnes, Phillips & Robson Kanu. There will be goals in this.
  21. can he even speak english and communicate with our backline? A back 5 requirers chemistry
