They've started saying "Baltimore vs Denver" to mean "Baltimore @ Denver" now. Totally confusing. Anyway, roll on Thursday.

That's always been a fairly common thing in US sports. As long as you remember that it's away-team first you're OK (though it's about 50/50 now as to whether a given MLS media outlet does home first or away first...).

That's my point. "@" is unambiguous. "vs" could be anything and with certain sports deciding which way to use it, the fan is left none the wiser. I'm used to America being different for the sake of being different but they usually make sense while they're at it. This doesn't. Maybe I should be in the TTPYOTS thread :)

I understand. Although I'd have thought that with baseball being a sport steeped in tradition that this recent 'vs' phenomenon in things like the NFL wouldn't have been so recent.
