Transfer Speculation (Summer 2013)

Yes its good to have adaptable players in the squad but players who specialise in one position and know that role well wouldn't go amiss. We know a handful are multi talented but I think Lambert will be doing this with our new midfield signings. Talent needs focus and nurturing. i dont think we'll be buying anymore midfielders unless its AM.

An attacking midfielder who can also drop into centre midfield would be ideal. Belhanda type player is exactly the type that would suit us. A hard working flair player that has it all. So hopefully we can find someone with the same attributes as him

Yeah if we can find someone who's a combination of Javi Martinez and Mario Gotze for a couple of million that would be OK.

Eh yeah because Belhanda is a combination of them two isnt he??... (sarcasm)

Perhaps I was parodying your (IMO) unreasonable hopes of us signing a "hardworking flair player that has it all" for comic effect. Perhaps.

Perhaps.

There is every chance of us signing a player like that as its the type of player we are crying out for. Especially if we sell Bentakey then I see no reason why we couldnt spend around 10m on this type of player. The player I mentioned was sold for around 10m as it was the last year of his contract so no reason why we cant make a similar deal.

Nice joke though. Very entertaining. Well done you

Me neither, so it might be wrong of me to say not the type of player we want. Dunno, he is just one of those chelsea talents that they have currently, so you never know. Not all of them can end up at the first 11 over there.

Things do seem to have gone very quiet on the transfer front lately.

It seems reasonably clear that there will be no more incomings until a few more players leave the club.

Which is fair enough.

Ireland and Bent off the books completely would probably allow us up to another 6 or 7 players in regards to wages. Not saying we will buy that many but it's ridiculous when you think how well the likes of Westwood and Weimann performed in comparison to their overly paid counterparts.

Philipp Hosiner, 32 goals in 36 appearances last season at FK Austria Wien. 24-years-old, friends with Andi, potentially ready to step up to a bigger league.

Wien want about €5m.

Discuss.

Would rather have Chadli than Castaignos.

I'm getting old and out of touch. These 2 sound like wines. I want to sign someone called Boddington

Hahaha!! Well chelsea are getting away with calling Azpilicueta 'Dave' because they cant pronounce the name. dont see why we cant do the same ;)

mentioned this last week in the thread. i personally would love to see him come here. He's had 3 brilliant successive seasons in a row and a has got a very impressive goal record.

Wien want about €5m for him and Hoffenheim are close to matching their valuation apparently.

He's only 24 so would fit into Lamberts young and hungry policy, clearly talented and I'm sure Andi would be able to give him a nudge in the right direction if needs be.

Just saw people on Twitter talking about him being linked, not sure where from and probably B/S, but he has Lambert written all over him.
