It's an excellent piece of music, but the Grandstand theme remains the best BBC sports intro music for me.

Oooooh - Controversial!

Johnny Pearson - 'Heavy Action' - Superstars here, Monday Night Football in the US.

Si Begg & Johnny Pearson - 'Sound Clash Superstars'  - Dancefloor stomper version of the above.

Sam Fonteyne - 'Pop Looks Bach'  - Ski Sunday.

Booker T And The MGs - 'Soul Limbo' - Cricket.

Not sport, but competitive, Chess used to have Morricone's 'Come Maddalena'.

Escape to Victory - Soundtrack by Bill Conti - 1981

I saw this film when i was 10,  at the time I thought it was one of the greatest films going.  I absolutely loved it,  I can remember shouting "Win, win" (same as in Rocky to be fair) at the telly with my brother,  seeing Pele at the end and it's a goose bump thing (It all went slow motion) .  (I cannot be the only one to have tried (overhead kick) it in the garden) ?

I will never forget how happy I was when i watched this.  My old man telling me about players I didn't know about,  us both hating any Ipswitch players for obvious reasons :-).

Don't forget,  at the time I saw it we were champions of the whole of Europe.

So the music,  could not have been better in the film.  Ace.

Good shout but I'd go with:

Nice high G in the trumpet at the end 🙂

Conti also did the soundtrack to "The Spy Who Loved Me." Lots of wah-wah guitar :D

Also has my favorite Bond moment.

Great film and one of my favourite soundtracks of all time.

It's brilliant. Talk about re-hashing a motif.
