Yeah, Sutton does seem a bit of an idiot who's outlived his era. You can't say that kind of stuff these days.

Lots of people backing up Jess Varnish, a couple of people saying they can't deny it but he helped them.

Open and shut case really. Varnish didn't deserve to get dropped so it was obviously out of spite when she blamed the coaches for the failure to qualify for the olympics. She had nothing to lose by whistleblowing and now it's out there.

Yes darrenm but did he actually say it ?? Some of the riders piling-in have scores to settle. However, if he said that about the paracyclists that is pretty unforgivable .

Does anyone use a Garmin on their bike?  I've been using a Touring Edge for almost a year, but I think it's time to get more science out of it.  I'm currently training for a half ironman in September, and need to ensure I maintain my fitness and strength for the run, instead of battering the bike like I would in a sprint tri.

Does anyone use the Garmin 520?  It looks a lot more comprehensive for almost all aspects compared to what I am currently operating...

I have a 520 and love it and much prefer having separate bike/watch combo as you can be in TT position and just pop the 520 on the bars using something like a barfly.

I actually looked at the 1000, but it is huge and couldn't get it behind the bottle on the bars.

Yes. I seem to remember someone else said they had a cracked fork on a Boardman. I haven’t heard any bad reports about this, but this seems like a trend.

I ve got a 11 year old Carbon Specialized that has thousands on the clock, not cracks or anything.

Whatever you do, don’t ride.

Wouldn't like to comment on legal position but ... I found a hairline crack in my Pinarello time trial bike , on the top tube. I found a place at Moira, between Tamworth and Burton called Carbon Bike Technics. They looked at it and thought that the tubing was NOT cracked but it was either the paint or filler !! used by Pinarello to shape the frame. Just to say, that I can recommend them and they are on the internet.

Is that the Pinarello with Shimano Dura-Ace:D

Right !!  That is you off my Christmas card list !!  Sadly, I was at a large cycle emporium the other day, trying to sort out the useless outboard cups on the bottom bracket. "Blimey" says mechanic, "We don't see much Campag these days"  GRRRRR

As regards Meath's point - wouldn't like to say. Do Boardmans come with any written guarantee ? I guess they might try to say it had been mis-used or something but it must be worth a try. Think Specialized come with a long guarantee period - and Cervelo too I think  - which doesn't actually help you does it - sorry !

I think it was probably me on facecrap on behalf of relatives. They're enraged about it and want to get it viral but I'm struggling to be surprised at a Boardman bike breaking.

Yeah the specialised warranty is great, had a mate drop about 5-6 foot on a stumpjumper and cracked the frame and they replaced it. Didn't know my Cervelo had such a good warranty - pleased to hear that.

I wouldn't. Depends what your budget is though. A friend bought a Carrera road bike from there about 18 months ago and the pedal sheared off within a week.

Chain Reaction Cycles usually have some good deals, as do Evans. Make sure you get the right size frame though.

I have had my Carerra road bike for about 2 years now, no problems whatsoever. Great bike, but then I am not that serious, I like to trundle to work at a decent pace, but I am no 50 miles on a Saturday morning racer, plus I have fitted a kickstand and a pannier to it, so. *some* cyclists take the piss a little bit.... :-)
