Nice write up in the Guardian about him today

Picked as the best of our first year scholars. Described as a throw back with his love of a tackle and a clean sheet. .

Born2 October 2006
A tenacious defender at home at right-back or centre-back, the Birmingham-born teenager is viewed by academy staff as a bit of throwback, such is his appetite to win duels and tackles and pride at keeping clean sheets. Rowe is already a regular for the under-21s, for whom he made his debut as a 16-year-old in the EFL Trophy last season. A grounded and mature character, Rowe captained Villa’s under-16s to winning the Premier League national tournament as a centre-back last season has also represented England Under-18s. Joined Villa from West Brom aged 14 but has grown up in the shadow of Birmingham City’s St Andrew’s stadium.  Ben Fisher

One of only 4 players this season who has started every game in the 3 competitions. Along with Tommi O'Reilly, Rico Richards & Josh Feeney. He's already integral to the u21 side, as a 17 year old.

And then he didn't feature last night :D (the other 3 started).

I think that list just shows how hard it is to make it at the top level. Going back through the years, there are so few who made it at their prem club.

Even smashing at U18 and U21 level isn't a given.

I was looking at the list of all time PL u18 goalscorers and someone called Reo Griffiths from Spurs scored 34 goals in 34 goals In the u18 PL at the age of 17. FhYs impressive. He's now 23 and at Doncaster and yet to play a game.
