They achieved something anyway, it made all the big news outlets even if the game went ahead.

I never said I don't support the protest, I'm surprised that such a small amount of people can't be dispersed and they get the game on.

In normal times it would not have been successful I guess with the no crowds the policing had been a light touch.

My problem is that the 1000s fans message is the protest of the glazers means they don't want the ESL

That's not true, what they want is the glazers to stop taking money out of the club because they think it will give them financial dominance again

This is still all about money and being greedy as ****, these utd fans can't see the woods for the trees

You think it’s just a coincidence this protest happened the first home game after the ‘Super League’ announcement?

They're moaning that their owners are greedy but have wanted them out for the last decade because they don't spend enough

Its hypocrisy

Blink 182 Reaction GIF

Maybe a bit aggressive but I'm still baffled they couldn't shift them from blocking a hotel and Old Trafford.

I remember being in a police escort after an away game at Blues, we were just taken round in circles for about 90 minutes and that was after being locked in for an hour because they couldn't get the noses to leave.

What is hypocrisy is pretending we would not also be up in arms if we had owners who had bought the club entirely through bank debt, had then skimmed millions of pounds a year off the running budget of the club, putting it into their personal bank account instead and who then proposed a closed league to guarantee themselves even more money.

Brings back memories. I remember coming out of Maine Road on one of the coaches and a coach just in front of us having their windows smashed as we were driving along in single file and all the coaches had to speed up.

You put it so eloquently compared to what I was trying to write. Spot on!

If villa had brought about globalisation in football, used it to buy any player we wanted and win everything for 20 years, cooked up a rule change that said you can only spend what you earn when we were the biggest earners in world football meaning that 75% of the league couldn't compete with us, quadrupled the value of our club and then continued to spend £100m+ on transfers and £200m on wages every year then I'm not sure I would be pissed at the owners...

Like I said man utd turned football in to a business in the 90s, they got bought by businessmen, they are now being ran like a business and a very successful business at that but they're unhappy because they want to be ran like a football club... They made their own bed

They see utd not winning the league and think its because Man City spend more than they do and then think that man City spend more than they do because the glazers skim off the top, they ignore the £100m+ on transfers and £200m on wages they spend every year, they spend enough to compete but blame them not competing on money and demand more... And not they're bringing up greed?

This is about a fan base who are so used to winning that they now can't understand the fact that they're not

Where was man utds protest at FFP? The rule that benefitted them and came from their director? They killed football 10 years ago not 2 weeks ago

That’s not what it’s about for the Man U fans I know.

Its exactly what it's about from the utd fans I know

They used to win everything, now they don't, they used to spend more money than everyone, now they don't, they don't because the glazers take money out

Glazers are therefore bad owners

Not from many Man U fans I know...  while I agree with most of what you said re the club....the protest isn’t/wasnt because of that and the frustrations from many I know isn’t because of that.  LondonLax explained it perfectly!

Maybe but you’re in Germany, I assume the Man U fans there, across Europe and globally maybe the same but fans there maybe different.  Likely a lot that were protesting, people we know were there for different reasons.

I only live in Germany now, I grew up in Kidderminster in the 90s

I genuinely hate man utd fans more than I hate Birmingham City fans and actually know 2 or 3 times as many, utd are a bigger club there

They are getting what they deserve, the stuff with the glazers now is a direct result of what they did in the 90s and 00s that made them so successful

I have no sympathy for them and hope it continues

Yeah however much the Man Utd supporters think the glazers are rotten owners (and I don’t doubt they are), I doubt we’d been seeing quite the level of protests if they had won a league title over the past couple of years instead of the horrific 8 years of waiting, punctuated with a cup win here and there.

Those Bolton and Bury supporters had it easy.
