U23 Development League 2020/2021

Great win considering Bridge, Kesler, Chukwuemeka, Philogene-Bidace, and Barry were all missing and Bogarde was not in his regular midfield position. Good to see Ramsey do well, and Young get his first goal at U23 level.

Yep, and his first assist.  It was the Ramsey and Young show today.  The next 3 are all at Bodymoor too so hopefully they can build up some momentum and finish strongly.

Dear Mrs Ramsey, the boys have done great this week, fishfingers for tea please!

Dear Mrs Ramsey, you’ve already potentially helped Villa out for the next 15 yrs or so with your 3 boys in the Villa academy, but pretty please allow Mr Ramsey have his fun tonight so Villa are helped for even longer

Leeds beat Wolves with Rodrigo scoring, They continue to dominate in the table through misunderstanding how U23 football works and playing loads of players from their first team squad. 😆

Saw on Twitter earlier that he'd be playing. He's coming back from injury which is fair enough. We might be doing something very similar soon 😁

Typical that when we needed them to beat Palace on Monday, 32 year old Berardi was the only senior player that used, as opposed to their normal five or six that they often play, and he's a right back that hasn't made an appearance for them in the league this season. Although them beating Wolves today helps us out.

Burnley game on Friday is now a 13:30 kick off, looks like we might have Wesley up front.

Unusual to have the U23's and first team play at times that are so close together  - it'll make selection interesting.

Looks at the moment that we're not getting coverage of this one from Bodymoor Heath, which is a little disappointing.

The original article announcing the live games said that every home game would be shown

'We will be bringing you all the action for each of the Young Lions’ remaining home Premier League 2 matches this season.'

Yep, hopefully it'll appear during the week, but at the moment the OS and Villa TV are only listing the following game against Wolves.

Surely the club are able to commit to two commentaries in the same day? No Jack Woodward, no party?

I imagine most would be happy to watch it without commentary if need be. They've known for a while now that both games would be this Friday, so I imagine they will have something sorted out.

I'd be very happy to watch every game of football with no commentary.

Our 3rd youngest starting 11 this season at 18.31y/o.  No surprising inclusions or omissions. As expected, Louie Barry returns after rolling his ankle and missing the last 3 games.

Kesler and Chukwuemeka back with the U23's for this one is good to see - Chuk's had a taste of the bench and Kesler is freed up by the return of Cash.

I'd sooner have Bogarde in midfield than at centre half, but there's an awful lot of attacking intent in that line up.
