On the equivalent round of games last season Brighton drew with Fulham, and Cardiff lost to Arsenal, if Cardiff had have won that game they wouldn't have been relegated, so yes games this early in the season can ultimately cost a club dearly.

I don't think anyone is denying that picking up points for us is crucial. It absolutely is at all stages of the season. But worrying about the results in other games at this stage is just a bit unnecessary, imo. It's down to us to pick up points, let's worry about ourselves.

A draw today could prevent us from being in the bottom three come the international break. Because Southampton got a point against United, it means they we have to get something today to avoid dropping into the bottom three, because of Watford and Newcastle playing each other, so one of them is guaranteed at least a point. Actually if Watford win, then that might be enough for us, but it won't be easy for them away at Newcastle.

We should have enough quality to beat a very weak home team like Palace.

Probably more dangerous the  weekend after the break as we don't play West Ham until the Monday night so all teams will have chance to overtake us. Nothing much we can do about that apart from getting a result today and v West Ham.

This year is our year to beat Man Utd at Villa Park, surely?!

IF we can get out of our heads the cursed nature of last 20 years to me they're the top 6 team we best match up with (Liverpool and Man. City on another level let's be honest). Plenty of energy in midfield which usually disrupts their midfield and got enough pace at the back to keep likes of James and Rashford in check.

Only issue is I'd like to have played them at home before xmas. They'll probably sign some more players in January and likely a new manager aswell.

Well we're in the bottom three now, and wouldn't be if United had have beat Southampton. Complete arrogance to think that other results don't matter to us no matter at which point of the season they come.

Burnley haven't been that bad, one flukey deflection for the first and bad defensive error and they're 2 down and trying to keep the score down. They'll still stay up though.

Man. City and Liverpool are just on another level, they should just go to Asia and play each other 30 times a season.

If we'd have drawn all our games so far this season we'd be on four points, have a better goal difference, and wouldn't be in the bottom three.
