Poor result, and poor performance, serious lack of composure from us, to me that seems to the main difference from our good play last season, our players too panicked on the ball, and it's leading to too many mistakes, in the summer we lost first team coach Sam Rose, he was something of a big coup for us the previous summer as we took him from a good job in the mens game, he was Burton's Head of Academy, I'm wondering if him leaving has had a big impact, and maybe it was him who helped us improve so much last season.

The result today is doubly frustrating because it comes just before an international break and next game after the break is Man City away, so Brighton way into Decemeber our next best chance of three points, and that's no guarantee if we don't improve, and our record at Bescot is abysmal, one win in the league their in each of the last three seasons.

Ward with a few strange selections, I've no idea why she's starting Corsie ahead of Staniforth, that's utterly ridiculous, Staniforth is England international DM, it isn't even Corsie's position, and it shows, she keeps giving the ball away, and it's not as if she's helping us defensively by playing there, Staniforth replaced her today and looked infinitely better, not only is playing Corsie as DM keeping Staniforth out the team, but also blocking McLoughlin's pathway.

Not sure what's happened to Mayling either, she was probably our best outfield player the season before last, there were calls for her to get an England call-up, and not just from Villa fans, and she was steady enough last season, but she hasn't been herself this season, and today was another constantly giving it away, a far cry from how good she was when she first joined, now looks a completely different player, I don't know what it is but maybe with her being the only rightback at the club,  the lack of competition hasn't done her any good at all.

As for Ward losing her job that's not going to happen, we had won the previous four games before today, she's even less likely to lose her job now than she was after we lost five in a row. At this stage even if we were of the mind to make a change, we would likely wait until the end of the season, because we won't be anywhere near relegation or top four, so there's no panic, and truth be told that was probably the case before the season started, hence the club not panicking after the first five defeats, the highest we were likely to finish was fifth, not the end of the world if we finish sixth or seventh instead, in terms of the women's teams overall trajectory would still represent an upward curve.

To be honest I think a lot of the blame lays with the players, they're constantly making the most ridiculous of unforced errors, I've no idea what has gotten into them, our play is constantly breaking down because of it, as above Ward with some of her selection choices not without blame too, and needs to figure out her best team, we have too many options going forward, I have to say I'm starting to wonder if we actually look better with Lehmann in the team, Salmon and Leon look like good individual players that will get goals and assists, but to me Lehmann looks like she links up better with the players around her, especially Mayling and whoever is playing on the right hand side of midfield out of Nobbs and  Blindkilde.

This is getting boring now. She maybe a good coach I'll give you that, but as for motivation, if she anything like she is in he post match interviews, I'm not suprised the team can't be arsed. Time for a change, someone with a bit more drive and enthusiam will be a start, Ward is running out of ideas. Everyone wants it to be on par with the mens game, if so, Ward has to go, we certainly wouldn't be keeping a manage/caoch this inconsistant.

Went to the game yesterday. We weren't great but probably should have still gotten a draw if it wasn't for giving away the needless penalty. I thought we lacked creativity, which is worrying considering Dali is back and some of the attacking players we have. Daly apart from her goal hardly had a sniff.

Our U21s will play Rugby Borough (formerly Coventry United) in the semi-final of the Birmingham Challenge Cup, Wolves play West Brom in the other semi-final.

Rugby, Wolves, and West Brom have been playing their first team in the competition, and will probably have to do so against us as I don't think they will have a U21 team good enough to compete against ours.

So basically if we're to win the whole thing are going to have to beat two third tier senior teams, which will probably be a difficult task, have to remember our U21 team is only really a U21 team by name, it's more like an U18 team, winning the competition probably not the main aim, more about getting experience against senior opposition, similar to the mens' U21s playing in the EFL Trophy

England U23 beat France 1-0, Salmon started, had a decent enough game, although missed a good opportunity when through on goal as at the last minute she kind of managed to run without the ball and the chance was gone, Blindkilde came on in the second half and looked good as usual, stream cut off with fifteen or so minutes remaining, Gregory was an unused sub, England only made two changes all game, she's doing well to make the squad at all with Salmon and Robinson dropping down to this level, Robinson scored the goal but was quite quiet other than that.

Milly Round has been called up to the England U19 squad after another player had to withdraw because of injury, her first call up at that level, she was part of the U17 squad at the Euros in this year.

We've drawn Man Utd in the semi-final of the FA Youth Cup, the other semi-final is Leicester v Arsenal

Daly only got in as a starter when she was doing unbelievably well, breaking goal scoring records, scoring double or close it than the other England forwards, winning WSL player of the season, players' player of the season, nominated for Ballon D'Or, and whatever else, and even then they only squeezed her in at left-back, and now she hasn't quite hit the heights of last season she's not even getting a start, and I say she hasn't hit the heights of last season, she still has four WSL goals, just two short of the top scorer, and has nine goals in ten games in all competitions, so she's still doing very well, in fact I think she's scored more goals than any other England forward other than Lauren James, it almost feels that because she plays for us, or rather that she doesn't play for one of the 'top four', she has to reach ridiculous heights to get a start and then even more so to get a start in her specialist postion.

Not that I'm too bothered from a Villa point of view, probably better for us the less she plays today, if she's more rested for the weekend, when we're going to need all the help we can get.

I doubt it, she seems very happy, and turns 32 tomorrow, so will probably be expecting to be phased out a lttle for younger players now as England look to the future.

Apparently Saudi meant to be throwing a lot of money to attract the best players, my first thought was it could be a big problem to leagues like the WSL, because unlike the men the women aren't already rich so many more than has been the case in the mens game might be tempted, but then I realized they probably won't be targeting openly gay players, so that will rule many out including Daly.

She’s just bought a house next to me, was renting previously so hopefully that is a sign she is happy here.
