He didn’t pin it though. For about a frame or two he had his arm on the keeper’s arm.

Foderingham is an awful keeper and his dreadful attempt at clearing the ball is getting excused because of this fake foul

Oh Foderingham definitely got away with it but Ramsey makes it easy for them to give a foul by holding his arm.

I thought Ramsey was showing signs of getting over his ring rustiness last night. Beginning to drive with the ball again and get into inside left pockets of space ahead of left back in first half. It will come, but only with mins. Going to take some time.

Yeah you take the screenshot from the VAR call and there's about 8 fouls on it

There is more of a foul being made on Ramsey than Ramsey is making on the keeper

But we all know keepers are protected

And that's before you go in to an argument about phases of play

And according to the rules it was another phase of play. Sheffield United had 'obvious control' (as it's labelled in the rules) of the ball back.

You don’t have to post the video. I’ve seen it a hundred times. It’s not a foul

Ramsey needs to be dropped. We all love him and know how high his potential is but he needs to feel the pain to redouble and refocus his efforts.

Zaniolo has been through that journey and deserves a start now.

So Zaniolo, a loane, gets 10+ starts but Ramsey can only get 2. Way to show one of our star boys from last year some faith.

He’s struggled against low blocks last year too. Towards the end of last year he started dragging his marker closer to the touchline and then unexpectedly cutting it back with his left foot.

Gone away from doing it but in general we need to push them back to the touchline more often.

Loanee has nothing to do with it. Get your chance you better take it or someone else is going to get that chance to take the shirt back. That’s the only way you build a successful team.

You do know Ramsey's been injured? And by all accounts if Zaniolo is good enough we have the option/obligation to sign permanently anyway.

He's rusty and needs minutes to get that match sharpness back. He's not going to get there unless we bear with him, so what you're suggesting is not actually productive at all moving forward.

Sure this has been covered, but I don’t really understand how in a tussle where the defender had both hands gripping Ramsey’s shirt and was pushing him away, and Ramsey had one hand on the keeper, the goal was disallowed but there was no penalty…

(And also it was a different phase of play so screw VAR as usual…)

He can get minutes v Burnley and in the FA Cup and play his way back into the team.

He's hasn't even had five games worth of football since coming back from injury, and hasn't even actually been that bad, people just doing what they always do with him, that is if he doesn't score goes a few games wthout scoring then he gets unfairly criticized, as if people don't understand there's much to his game than scoring, and calls for Zaniola to replace illustrate that kind of thinking furthermore, as Zaniolo beisdes his two goals hasn't been great himself, Zaniolo might come in for him, but it would be less based on Zaniolo having played better than Ramsey and more to do with us needing to rotate during the busy schedule,

He's not just some kid who needs to prove himself - we already know how good he is, and this will be the fastest way to get him back up to speed. That's why Emery is doing it and not the way that you're suggesting.

So he plays every game until the end of the season just because last season he played well? That’s not how things work and why sooner or later he’s going to get dropped unless performances improve to last seasons standards.

No, he gets the games and minutes needed to give him a chance to get up to speed - he has not had that yet.
