villan-scott Posted July 28, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted July 28, 2017 As the other thread is now old news, a new thread to discuss the upcoming seasons squad numbers. Some of the first 11 being available for the first time in a while. It'll be interesting to see what numbers the new boys take. Kodjia will also have a new number, and I imagine he's hoping for number 22 if Gardner leaves.
Junxs
I always pay special attention to numbers 1-11 So numbers 1,2,3,6,8,10 are all available (Elphick good as gone). Cant remember the last time so many numbers 1-11 were free. Like to see Kodjia take the #10 Edit: just realised Taylor took the #3 in January Edited July 29, 2017 by Junxs

New signing (one can dream!) 10. Jonathon Kodjia

Killeen30
Johnstone held up a shirt with his name and number 1 when he signed. Pretty sure I didn't dream that.

Killeen30
You'd think at this late stage the numbers would have been released. I went ahead last night and preordered both the home and away shirts with names and numbers on the to get the free printing. Hopefully they don't change! Killeen30
I thought for sure they'd have been released this week in the run up to the kit releases. Plenty would have wanted to get Kodjoa on the back of their shirts!
TRS-T
Would love to see Grealish get #10. I think you should wear a shirt number corresponding to your position - even above 1-11. For example: 31 - goalie 12 - right-back 25 - centre back 33 - left back 47 - right wing 58 - centre mid 61 - left wing 70 - number 10 89 - striker etc Lansbury wearing #5 disgusts me
skarroki
I'm confident now that everyone has kept their numbers from last year. I imagine next year will see a huge switch around. I would say the changes will be: 1 - Johnstone 2 - Elmohamady 6 - Samba 8 - Whelan 22 - Kodjia 26 - Terry From the previous thread I read an article about how certain players wanted to swap their shirt numbers for their preferred choice. The numbers I read players wanted were Lansbury - 10 (free) [leaving 5 free for Chester] Jedinak - 15 (free) Kodjia - 22 (Gardner) Hourihane and Bjarnason both wore 8 at previous clubs. Samba - 4 (Richards)
