I'd guess he probably lacks the coaching badges required for the Championship if he lacks them for the Allsvenskan.  The special dispensation probably would not have travelled between leagues.

Am sure there's ways around it.

Employ him officially in a non-footballing capacity, maybe head Chef or something.......

Rumors of Mellberg to AIK growing stronger...:(

Also Östersund is just so impressive. 2 - 0 up now and 10 minutes away from booking their place in the last 32.

Along with Manager Potter they have at least 4

players I'd happily have at Villa. Ghoddos, Sema, Papagiannopolous and Jamie Hopcutt could all do a job here and cost next to nothing

The 3 hold Swedish passports and Hopcutt is English but he will be out for the rest of this season.

Ghoddos and Sema would probably be starters.

IFK Göteborgs super talent, goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg is about to sign for Watford for £3m.

Just turned 18 and been IFK's starting keeper all season, just called up for the national side.

Not much money compared to what Donnarumma would cost (obviously another level) and a bit less than I'd hoped for.

But IFK are desperate for money having wasted every penny they had so the money will be welcomed.

Think crazy money for unproven talent from Sweden. Prob near transfer record

For a young GK from Sweden?

Yeah think so, Andreas Isaksson went for £1.5 to Juve back in 99 and then again for £1.7m to Man City back in 04..

Think Zlatan still holds the transfer record from Allsvenskan from when he moved to Ajax for £7.5m when he was 20

Östersund and Potter draw Arsenal. It was fated to happen, never doubted it for a second.

Arsenal obviously huge favorites, but it will be fun to see how the handle playing in freezing conditions (could easily be -20 to -30 degrees Celsius) on a plastic pitch covered in snow.

With the Swedish season not starting til late Mars Östersund will be rusty as a tin man in a monsoon thou.

The young revolution continues among managers in Sweden.

Olof's replacement at Brommapojkarna will be 36 y.o Portuguese Luis Pimenta who was named young manager of the season in Norway this season.

Really like this development because Sweden is in a real need of this generation change among managers.

Has he even left yet?

Is this a player you wish we were interested in @sne? One of Olof's ex-players has got a move to the Premier League

Viktor Gyokeres: Brighton & Hove Albion agree signing of IF Brommapojkarna striker

Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed the signing of Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres from IF Brommapojkarna.

He will join Albion on a two-and-a-half-year deal when the transfer window reopens in January and will initially play for the club's under-23 side.

Gyokeres, 19, was joint top scorer at the European Under-19 Championship, scoring three goals in as many games.

Brighton's Under-23 coach Simon Rusk said: "He will add good competition for places in the forward areas."

Honestly not seen enough to say.

He's a talented guy, but he would be one for the future even for us I think.

He's big and strong and has an eye for goal and good feet's and pace for a big guy I can see why Brighton took a punt on him.
