ChrisVillan
brand new - the quiet things that no one ever knows into sic transit gloria, glory fades. bloody love that album,it's bostin deja entendou is one of the most underated albums ever. its weird because they dont seem to have that big a fan base over here, but lots of people i know own the album, but dont really talk about it cus they think no one else has it. the videos to sic transit and quiet things are amazing also. very underated bands I saw them at Birmingham academy last Feb than again at Give it a name festival in err April at Birmingham NIA..both times were amazing although at Give it a name festival they only played music off TDAGARIM...which was dissapointing But apparantly they played a secret show on the second stage due to a band dropping out. Jesse Lacey is genius, I love Brand New, their lyrics are amazing So have another drink and drive yourself home, I hope there's ice on all the roads, I hope you think of me when you forget your seatbelt and again when your head goes through the windshield. Is that what you call a getaway? Tell me what you got away with, 'cos I've seen more spine in jellyfish, and seen more guts in 11 year old kids. Quality. The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me is my favourite album ever.

ChrisVillan
It's funny, I rarely read this thread. Listened to that for the first time in ages today - that's what I call a modern masterpiece.

leviramsey Posted December 28, 2008 VT Supporter Share Posted December 28, 2008 Gather 'round while I sing you of Wernher von Braun A man who's allegiance is ruled by expedience Call him a Nazi, he won't even frown "Nazi, Schmazi," says Wernher von Braun Don't say that he's hypocritical Say rather that he's apolitical "Once ze rockets are up, who cares vhere zey come down Zat's not my department," says Wernher von Braun Some have harsh words for this man of renown But some think our attitute should be one of gratitude Like the widows and cripples of old London town Who owe their large pensions to Wernher von Braun You too may be a big hero Once you've learned to count backwards to zero "In German oder English I know how to count down Und I'm learning Chinese," says Wernher von Braun
leviramsey Posted December 28, 2008 VT Supporter Share Posted December 28, 2008 Jimmy Buffett - Why Don't We Get Drunk I really do appreciate the fact you're sitting here Your voice sounds so wonderful But your face don't look to clear So barmaid bring a pitcher, another round of brew Honey, why don't we get drunk and screw? Why don't we get drunk and screw? I just bought a waterbed, It's filled up for me and you They say you are a snuff queen Honey, I don't think that's true So why don't we get drunk and screw

bickster Posted December 29, 2008 Moderator Share Posted December 29, 2008 Grounds for Divorce by Elbow A live in concert version, in fact I'm not just listening to it I'm watching it, on The FabChannel which is the real reason I'm posting. Its a great website for watching live concerts. Sound is great as are the visuals, no shonky phone vids, these are proper proffessional vids, done in conjuction with the venues (and one presumes the artists), seriously its a top website has something for most people

Chindie Posted December 29, 2008 VT Supporter Share Posted December 29, 2008 Finally managed to get hold of Sigur Rós' First album, Von, and very different it is, I'd say a lot darker and more ambient than their later stuff, so currently have on Sigur Rós - Myrkur into Trivium - Contempt Breeds Contamination. I don't actually like Trivium all that much, can't stand screamed/growled vocals, but the Crusade album is basically inspired by Metallica and this song is enjoyable enough.
