dAVe80
eager to discover more... The Soul Jazz 'Tropicalia' is one of their best comps, and they've done some crackers. Tropicalia was a politically motivated movement. Then there's Bossa Nova, Samba, Música Popular Brasileira (MPB), Jazz, Batucada... more more more Nicola Conte's 'Viagem' series are Mr Bongo does some good stuff, the 'Brazilian Beats' box does new stuff too, is worth the ticket for either side. If you like both it would be rude not to David Byrne's Luaka Bop does a couple of bits. Luciano Perrone's albums are mindblowing! That's what I'm talking 'bout! useless
That Gal Costa reminds of OS Mutantes their first three albums are good. This another really nice one ... Edited March 24, 2015 by useless

useless
Just a general jist from reading music blogs and other similar places, haven't got any particular examples recorded in memory really, I think I remember reading a big feature The Wire magazine the once that was quite gushing and I know Keith Fullerton Whitman speaks very highly of his music too.

Seat68
Stages of Love by Christopher Coleman, I heard this covered last year, I own the original by Jon Coleman. I would say its one of my favourite songs. Beautiful. (Not country, promise).
Marka Ragnos Posted March 26, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted March 26, 2015 The little Fender Jag or Jazzmaster riff on this one is trapped in my head -- agonizingly awesome, playing on and on. You have fair warning!
