Yeah, generally the service is very good with most big Asian airlines. Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines are the two very best IMO, but Korean Air, Thai and EVA have all been positive experiences. I find the food pretty good to be honest, I think airline food has improved massively in the last ten or fifteen years, I remember hating it years ago. Admittedly, I do like Asian food, it might not be so good if don't. Just don't go to the cinema in the weeks up to the flight, then you'll have stuff you want to watch.

How long is the flight? About ten hours, eleven hours? Two movies, two meals and a nap. No stress.

Says 11 and half there 13 on way back god that return flight is going to be awful. The furthest I have flown to us Vegas and that was 10 and half. I can't sleep on planes so going to have to out some tv shows on my tablet for journeys me thinks

cannot wait though guys always wanted to go finally happening :-)

Looks like my itenary is changing now as my mates want to do cambodia instead of bangkok. is cambodia worth going?

Cambodia is fantastic, but so is Bangkok.  A trip to Thailand would be weird without seeing Bangkok.

Which one if you had to choose would you go for and why?

Personally I'd sub out somewhere else in Thailand instead of Bangkok.

Did they say where in Cambodia?

I imagine Cambodia is like Thailand was years ago, a bit more untapped, although it does attract a lot of tourism itself these days.   The people seem a lot more humble and genuine in Cambodia for sure.  (90% of people in Thailand seem to be trying to rip you off, especially Bangkok).

You can do all the partying and experience nearly as much of the seediness (if you want) in Pnomh Penh.  It's a pretty crazy place and also as depressing as they are, the killing fields are a must.  Siem Reap is a cool town too, it's a lot more small scale and serene but very touristy too as it acts as a gateway for Angkor Wat.  Even if you get tired of temples in Thailand, Angkor Wat is something else and is probably top of anyone's list when visiting Cambodia.

Also from memory,  Thailand is fairly cheap but Cambodia is incredibly cheap.

Agree with Wainy. Your mates want to drop Bangkok but keep Pattaya? I guess we know what they are going for! :)

Cambodia is wonderful.. went in 2009 for 6 nights (as part of a 3 week holiday).. 3 nights Phnom Penh and 3 nights Siem Reap. Think Phnom Penh has changed a lot in the last few years, become more commercial but is a decent little city and the Killing Fields and genocide museum (the old prison) are musts. Siem Reap is ok but people are only really there for the Angkor temple complex, which is amazing. We hired a guide and driver for 2 days to take us around the whole complex.

To be honest in that case I'd save Cambodia for a separate trip. Angkor Wat itself requires one maybe two days which doesn't including seeing Siem Reap itself and you'll totally miss out on Pnomh Penh. It seems a lot to cram in just for two nights. I don't think it's worth scrapping Bangkok for a two day excursion.

Why are they so averse to Bangkok? It's honestly the last place I'd drop from your itinerary.

Sex tourism capital of the World!

Not saying that's what your mates are going for, but its like Blackpool or Benidorm. Its not the real Thailand if that makes sense? If you're going for beach, its hardly the tropical sands you see in the brochures, more like the Costa Del Sol. You'll have a blast there, plenty of bars, clubs, go-go bars, etc but given the choice of a world class city like Bangers or an over commercialised beach town like Pattaya, then its the former all the time. Plus you can get the seedy stuff in Bangkok if you want ;)

Interestingly I've been to BKK 4 or or 5 times but never stayed in BKK for more than a few hours each time  ... we've always  had enough time for my mate to go down sukhumvit to get his short time whilst me and my other mate have a wander around but I'm not sure it's really a lads destination .... yeah there is beer and girls but you'll end up with most of the gang disappearing with girls , then phone calls and tears when they find out it wasn't a girl ...

Its a wonderful city Tony, great restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. Worth 2 or 3 nights of anyone's time. Much better than Pattaya anyway :)

Pattaya sounds like my idea of hell on earth so I won't argue with you there  ...I'll be honest I'm not overally fussed about shopping and restaurants either though  :)

Yep thats probably why my mates want to go. One of my other mates who went said 3 nights is way too much and its just pure filth there. He also said there are so many ladyboys there that you have been so careful :puke:

i think i just want to stick with bangkok ahead of cambodia. just too much travelling for two weeks.

Your 'mate', you say? ;)

It's a lads' place without doubt. It has beer, clubs/bars and women so that by default makes it place to go as a group of male friends.

Unless lads usually go on holidays to see a show, look around markets, and take a local cuisine cookery class etc! :D

Rajawongse in Bangkok for a suit. It's owned by a father and son partnership (Jesse and Victor). It is a little bit more expensive than other places, but the quality and service is excellent. They've got 5 out of 5 stars on trip advisor from 1000s of reviews and have made suits for US presidents.

Thanks mate appreciate that

How much approx was per suit? My friend suggesting one called Brioni at bangkok he got three, three piece suits custom made for £200. Ridiculous prices

That sounds way too cheap for my liking, and I wouldn't be sure about quality, but it's personal preference. Jesse and Victor will do you one for around £340 and that's for the suit jacket plus two pairs of trousers. It's definitely worth it, though. They are durable and will fit perfectly. Jesse and his senior tailor have an amazing eye for detail and they're real perfectionists.

Also, I always ask for working buttons on the sleeves because it further separates a tailored suit from from one off the rack (that costs an extra £20 or so).
