  1. Richard just 3 points from above. 1. Lambert must be a bloody good manager to be better than some of the managers we have had in the last 30 years. 2. If we have a good squad of players and Lambert is the manager you claim him to be why are we doing so badly? 3. If he is the best manager we have had in the last 30 years why would Lerner want to sack him? money or not? Lerner is worse than Ellis because for all of his multitude of failing there isnt a cat in hells chance he would have left Lambert in charge for so long (as good a manager as you say he is).
  2. Both Houllier & McLeish got the sack because the results werent good enough for Aston Villa Football Club. Lambert is not performing any better so as a fan I would ask what has changed the criteria by which the manager is judged?
  3. Really cannot see him being in a position to do anything about the manager. He might well point out the damage that is being done to the club while he remains but it would be down to Lerner and he simply wont act. Wasnt there rumours of the fall out between Lerner and Faulkner because one wanted to terminate Lamberts tenure?
  4. So we have been sold but it won't be announced until the summer...... Where do you start pointing out the huge holes in that little tale!!!
  5. Richard you may know something which would put a different view on things but I think it is fair to say that he is losing support rapidly because we can't score goals. We go on long runs of not getting results because of it. There isn't a chance he will see out his 4 year contract because if he does then Villa Park will be half empty. I think the lack of goals we cost us our premiership status with a team which is probably as strong as the manager has had during his tenure. The FA cup game could be a game he cannot afford to lose.
  6. At what point Richard do you decide that you cannot defend the indefensible? I doubt we will score 20 goals this season and its Lambert's 3rd season.
  7. Can't spend more then we have been though... So getting rid of Lerner make no difference then with regards transfers. Hasnt paid over 7 figs for a player in 3 years! Pretty much. Until we improve income it doesn't matter who on owns us unless they happy to pay big fines I'm not sure I believe our current wage bill is at the maximum level we can afford for playing staff, it's probably not. for the rest of the half a million staff we needlessly employ, it likely is To improve income we need to improve attendances, so we need to improve the product on the pitch so we either need to buy better players or get a better manager in to work with what we have already. Nothing will change otherwise.
  8. The fact that 7 months on from publicly announcing the club is for sale we appear to be no closer to him finding a buyer shows how big an idiot he was to make the announcement he did. We could be in limbo for years to come because he has pissed his money away in some kind of mid life crisis and now thinks that the club should pay him back for his mistakes. Doug was bad but this prat is much worse and much bigger threat to the health of our club!!
  9. You have to wonder what the delay is. Things on the pitch arent going well and its been nearly a month since the previous assistant left. Are candidates being put off by the uncertain future of the owner or is the club blocking any appointment (doubtful)
  10. couple of problems there. Is it Lerner ? Or lambert as well? Will those protesting want to protest for both or just one and if just one will they be happy if the protest is hijacked to protest about the other at the same time. In addition if it's about Lerner what are the protestors going to say ? "Lerner out"? I think he'd be protesting too given he has already said he wants to go and the club is for sale. So does it say "hurry up and go" ?not much of a protest there surely. So if it is about Lerner what is the message and if it is Lerner and lambert then what there will be some not happy about protesting about both and a protest about Lerner is pretty futile . With Ellis a protest was always an option. Lerner saying what he said last summer has effectively nullified the protest potential Perhaps the big problem at our club is that there isnt one problem. We have an owner who isnt up to the standard required, made a huge mess by spending big and now we are worse off than teams like Swansea and Hull. Then we have a manager who despite being at the club for three years has been unable to instil any kind of playing style or identity. The point I was trying to make is I see fans having a go at the fans who want to protest, probably the same people who had a go when the fans protested at McLeish being appointed. Thing is those fans were right, we got exactly what we expected from McLeish so I would rather be on the side of those trying to instigate change rather than sit on the sidelines belittling them. At some point for everyone you would assume that there is a point when enough is enough and you decide that you need to do your bit for change because if as fans of Aston Villa Football Club we have been reduced to just accepting the destruction of our football club then we truly will get what we deserve.
  11. Not watched any of it but if 2 contestants/housemates/zlebs have been removed already surely this cannot last the full run.
  12. Watched the first episode of Cockroaches on ITV2, it supposed to be a comedy. It isnt. Its shockingly unfunny. Will not be watching episode 2
  13. Enjoyed it but wouldnt rush to watch again. Into the woods was just crap, sorry.
  14. How much destruction would Lerner have to do to AVFC before everyone would support the protest. Relegation? Double Relegation? Administration?
  15. Simply if fans turned their backs when Lambert comes out to the dug out that would be obvious and not overly affect the team.
  16. We were a counter attacking team which worked sometimes. We now keep hold of the ball which by its very nature means we dont he on the counter and we dont have players who can play that killer ball. I wonder why we are struggling to score?
  17. I am sure that we will end up the club we deserve. Its easy to sit and rage on the internet or deride those they try to establish change, the silent majority will ensure Lerner has an easy ride, Lambert stays in his job and the club has the life strangled from it. But hey who cares?
  18. I do wonder if the rash of red cards are down to the players frustrations at our new style of play? What is the hold up with the assistants appointment it is surely obvious to Lerner and Fox we need help for the manager or even better someone else in Lambert's role.
  19. What has changed your opinion of last week when those who wanted shot of him were wrong?
  20. You would think that if they wanted to slip away they would have had plenty of opportunity to do so. Ended probably as they wanted it to.
  21. The French dont **** about, there was zero chance this was going to last until it went dark. Not suprised one bit.
  22. Watched Nightcrawler on saturday night, another good film 8/10 Last night I watched Disconnect which is just about how bad the internet is but was still well told.
  23. We bought my son a HP 8 inch tablet from PC World over xmas and it went back yesterday unopened as I couldnt find a case or screen protector for it. The spec wasnt brilliant either. I am now thinking I will get him a Hudl2 so go do with any feedback good or bad on how Hudl2 owners feel about the tablet. Cheers.
  24. Predestination with Ethan Hawke. Sorry but the only way to put this is it screws with your mind. Best film of 2015 so far.........
