  1. Even if you disputed the exact manner of the key pass statistics, wouldn't the fact that he has SO much more than anyone else on the team (even if you discount his set piece ones) lend credence to the fact that he's been putting people in good positions? And to be honest, he is probably the least guilty of all players to hoof it up to Benteke in open play
  2. Gabby has definitely not played wide for most of the season. I'd say half wide and half up top. Either way, him and Weimann up top doesn't fill me with confidence
  3. I very much doubt 6 months. That would be a very fast recovery. December at the earliest
  4. Should get a run out with all the injuries Going to be an interesting Saturday
  5. Cometh the hour, cometh Grant Holt
  6. You must not have watched the first 6 months of the season. As for the talk of playing for England one day, laughable. A couple of decent performances and suddenly Lowton, Westwood, Bacuna, Gabby etc should all be playing for their countries. They are all average at best as proven when we were played off the park against the likes of West Ham, Fulham, Stoke etc... All I ever hear is with these 'kids' is that with a strong player next to him, they would really shine. Maybe we should just accept if they cannot do it on their own merits they are not good enough. He's put together a couple of good games now against various opponents. Standout in Cardiff, Newcastle, and United. He had some shaky games early on but he's found his footing and we're just calling on him to be better. But yeah sure. He's never going to be good.
  7. It's not a good line of thought to reward him for being good in the past. You have to look to the future and recognize decreasing pace and more injuries will not be worth it. I love Gabby and he might have another year or two still in him but he has to go.
  8. Not a coincidence that the player with the most ability on the ball has avoided second season syndrome like the others. Great to see him putting more of a defensive shift in as well. I think he covered a Mata run and shielded the ball until it went out of bounds right in our own box. But I'd like to see him really impose himself on the game against an opponent like Fulham. Instead of being content on keeping the tempo going, he should really start attacking and trying to find some through balls and deep crosses. Already we've seen that since we've cut out the floaty shit to Benteke, his corners and set pieces have become infinitely better now that he can put some whip into it.

    Alan Hutton

Loan has been extended to May
  10. Doesn't have the passing ability to play midfield (though that goes along with a lot of our players) Maybe it was just low confidence, but he was a deer in the headlights every time he got the ball. Several times he could have played a square ball to Westwood against United and just tried to punt it down an alley instead. It wasn't the first game he's done this either.
  11. I think fifa is noticeably different on ps4 But I wouldn't justify buying a ps4 if all you're going to play is fifa
  12. He seems to be able to control the ball which Weimann and Gabby lack
  13. Doesn't really mean anything when it comes to first team. Delfouneso, Bannan, Herd, Clark, Baker, Gardner. Not really anything to write home about recently.
  14. Because our other academy kids have been doing so great....
  15. Neither Clark or Baker are good enough. Combined into one player they would be good but they are both missing essential parts. They'll continue to get an easy ride since they're from the academy but they need to be replaced
  16. I think if he didn't have to play the defensive midfielder, he could chip in offensively a little more. It's just frustrating to see him transition the ball to Gabby or Andi with one touch and set them up in a good position to attack and then they just pass it back to a fullback
  17. I'd drop Weimann and Gabby as they are utter shit breaking a team down. Guzan Lowton Vlaar Clark Bertrand Albrighton Westwood Delph Tonev Robinson Benteke
  18. I don't think he's been that poor. Had some trouble against Stoke but did Ashley Young or Rafael or Phil Jones do anything all game? All our trouble was down our right. He's not helped by the fact that there's no natural left sided player to help him. Gabby has done **** all on the left side for him.
  19. Should be dropped on confidence alone. He's all eyed glazed over right now. Doesn't even try defending when it's a scramble. Just stands off. Afraid to pass it to Westwood and instead knocks it down the line. Just been miserable post Chelsea
  20. Can he control the ball? Can he attack and take on players? Congratulations, Tonev! You have done more than Gabby/Weimann
  21. Again. Nothing on the ball. Great workrate but how many times have we seen him trip over his own feet when trying to pass or shoot?
  22. But don't you know? All he does is pass backwards! Must be frustrating for him to call for the ball and Bacuna/Bertrand/Clark to just hoof it
  23. No Baker at all (injury? bollocking?). Lowton and Tonev back on the bench.
