  1. I don't have anything against Liverpool so I'd like us to win. Preferably, we would defend for 92 minutes. City would have something like 81% possession. We've barely had a touch of the ball and there's been multiple goal line clearances and last ditch tackles. Milner, in particular, has been on fire and putting in ball after ball as well as some timely shots. Guzan has made at least 3 or 4 miracle saves as well as punching Dzeko in the head as he comes out for a cross. Baker has fouled Toure within the box, but Guzan saved the penalty and the rebound. Delph has a yellow card. With 3 minutes of extra time, City are getting desperate. They need the 3 points. A draw will not do. They send almost everyone forward on a corner. Guzan punches it out for the 15th time and it lands at Albrighton's feet. Break is on. Marc's already fallen over out of exhaustion earlier in the game so he's on his last legs. He somehow summons the energy to motor down the pitch. Demichelis is the only one back and it's a 2 on 1 situation. All the Villa fans are on their feet, hearts in mouths. Is this actually going to happen? Right at the edge of the City box, Albrighton looks up. Demichelis commits. Everyone thinks he's going to shoot. Albrighton coolly squares it to the other Villa player. The Villa fans start to scream as they realize it's actually happening. The rest of the Ethiad is silent as stone. The ball slides across the box and Hart helplessly rushes out to try and get it, but the Villa player is obviously favored to it. Who is it? J Bowz meets the ball and everyone thinks he's overrun it but he knows what he's doing. It's a repeat of his goal against Hull, but this time, it's at the right end. J Bowz takes the slightest of touches with the back of his right heel. Hart has already dove the other way and watches in agony as the ball trickles towards his goal. It bounces against the post and you can hear it on the camera as the crowd's fallen silent. It crosses the line. Marc has fallen over, cramps in both of his legs. Everyone else is behind the halfway line, not believing what's just transpired. J Bowz doesn't care. He wheels off towards the Villa away corner, imitating his famous wheelchair gif as he meets the jubilant fans. The rest of the Ethiad is silent, their championship dreams extinguished at the foot of Bowery's first Premier League goal. ** More likely, we'll get trounced 4-0, but wouldn't that be great?
  2. I said 3 years and 3 years it will remain
  3. Surprised with his first touch. Nothing brilliant but after watching months of our strikers hitting the ball ten feet away with their first touch, it was a pleasant surprise to see Bowery settle it pretty easily
  4. Fun facts: Westwood has 58 key passes and 2 assists Adam has 28 key passes and 3 assists Now you can quibble about what exactly a key pass is but the overlying point is that neither are that far off when it comes to creating chances. Average passing accuracy? Westwood: 84% Adam: 75% But he only passes backwards? Westwood: 71.1% forwards, 28.3% backwards Adam: 60.6% forwards, 39.4% backwards You can make whatever arguments your eyeball can give you, but the fact is that Westwood and Adam aren't that different (and in some respects Westwood is better than Adam) when it comes to passing ability. Does that make Westwood a really great player? No, but he is the best passer on Villa (a sad testament to our midfield) and any arguments otherwise (or that he's not a good passer at all) are silly.
  5. He would work best if we did a 4231 or a 433. In the 4231 he could be paired up with a DM and play a little further forward but not as a traditional #10. In a 433, he could be used with Delph and another DM and he and Delph could play further forward and actually make some runs in the box. He shouldn't be the bottom of the diamond or the main DM. And we haven't seen a lot of cutting through balls, but let's face it, it's not as if Gabby or Weimann makes those runs regularly. He's made plenty of cross field balls or first time passes into good positions. It's not the same as one that splits the defense open, but when they sit so far back, you can only pass it in between so many players.
  6. Bent probably won't see the pitch for the rest of the season. The mythical legend of Bent still being good continues.
  7. I had a bad feeling against swansea but a good feeling about this one.
  8. I suppose he could've just taken the boos and tried to put on a brave face. But he's human. I don't blame him.
  9. Also true. It's kind of seen as the sport that "everyone" can play since most people just run around and have an almighty kick when they get near the ball. Also doesn't help that watching the MLS is like watching Villa play every day.
  10. If you ever watch him when we're trying to pass the ball around the box (which we actually somewhat different against swansea), he just stands there watching it go across. No attempt to move off his defender a little bit or trying to make a run. He just stands there until it might become a cross and then grapples with the defender for a bit for position. Silly to think he's our highest paid player.
  11. No. It probably still ranks as the fifth most popular sport over here. But I think I read that it is one of the fastest growing sports in terms of fan base. It's just kind of hard to make an event out of most of the matches when they're at 10 AM. But the increasing availability of online streaming has gotten people interested
  12. I'm originally from Florida! More people do watch football down there, but most people are still glory hunters.
  13. As an American, I have only ever seen one Villa fan and he was at the movies wearing a 2008 kit. Villa, as far as I know, is not a big club over here.
  14. Hope he shows up today but I'm not counting on it
  15. Based on what? The Darren Bent's of the world not able to make the team at Fulham. Or the Barry Bannan's not able to make it at Crystal Palace. Or the Richard Dunne's toiling away in the Championship. Did I miss any other big egos?
  16. Pay attention to what they do and not what they say. There's a little bit of sleight of hand in there.
  17. You can actually find out if you rewatch the episode closely. Combined with the knowledge you have from ep3, it should be rather obvious.
  18. Wasn't it well known that Aerys wanted Joanna? Tyrion could be born out of a rape from them. Might have also explained the enmity Tywin has for Tyrion if he knew that Aerys raped her and didn't say anything. Besides the whole chidlbirth death thing of course.
  19. I don't think Varys is a Targ. They make too much out of the blue eyes and the hair. Even if Varys makes himself bald all the time to avoid suspicion, I still think it's doubtful. I also forget the color of his eyes. Much more likely that Tyrion would be a Targ (especially in Winds of Winter as a white dragon cyvasse piece falls to his feet). Don't know about the how though.
  20. Yeah but will that have the same effect as Jamie robbing Cersei of her one strength (sex as a political weapon)? Much will depend on the fallout of their romp but it wouldn't be the first time the show messed up a sex scene (Dany's first time) but still arrived at the same ending
  21. Logically, he probably got one thing right and is making up the rest
