For those who are knocking him, what alternatives do you suggest? Yes, he's been poor in the last two games, but do we have any other players capable of creating chances? Would you rather have Hutton and Richardson as our creative outlets?
If he's gonna be poor at the back we might as well get Bacuna back in there, at least he has some end product.
Hutton is an anti-footballer, as much as I appreciate his effort I've had enough of his pathetic attempts at crossing the ball.
Most people this summer would've said Clark, I doubt a single person would call for him to be captain right now.
Maybe Sanchez, but that's just because of a lack of alternatives.
I DO get the hype, on his day he is a very good player, covers a lot of ground, strong in the tackle, decent on the ball, he seems a natural replacement for Cleverley. There are those games however where he looks really weak.
I don't get the "overrated" thing. He is a very talented prospect, I don't think anybody is saying he is the finished article yet. He can become a very good player, but needs a good kick up the arse.
Richardson pretty much is the embodiment of the useless full back. He's not good at defending, and not good at going forward. While he is slightly (maybe) better at defending than Amavi, he is way inferior at attacking. And while sligltly better going forward than Cissokho, he is much worse at defending.
Totally different player from Ayew, they pretty much have nothing in common apart from being strikers, with Gestede injured he could be a good option. He doesn't have to start, but get him on the bench at least.
