I had a quick flick through the match thread from last year. Bent came in towards the end of the first page and before AND after then people were saying we would be lucky to nick a point. This year people are saying we will get battered. Not sure what the difference is in mindset because in the weeks running up to the fixture last season we had: lost at home to Spurs drawn away at Chelsea lost at home to Sunderland won away at Sheff Utd drawn away at SHA and this year we have won away at Chelsea lost at home to Swansea won away at Bristol Rovers drawn at home to Everton won away at Wolves lost away at Arsenal drawn at home to QPR lost away at Newcastle If you take out the Arsenal Fa cup game, we have won two away FA cup matches against lower league opposition. Two good results at Chelsea. Two appauling home games against S'land and Swansea. The draw at SHA wasn't a great performance and despite not winning much recently we have been playing much better in the run up to this fixture. I can only imagine people think we will get mullered because of a leaky defence? I'm just rambling really, this post didn't really prove what I wanted it to

Houllier had a plan and had his health not worsened we would be in a much better position with him at the helm right now than we are. We wouldn't have signed Hutton and Jenas for a start, we may have not lost Downing (I know he has been shit for Liverpool but he was great last season under GH), and we may have made some decent signings.

Yeah thought he did well yesterday, don't feel as worried when he is on the ball or going in for a challenge as before.

In regards to service to Bent I think we miss Walker more than Young/Downing, more of an unknown quantity putting the balls in and opposition sides didn't take as much notice of him as they did of Young and Downing.

Bollocks. So good in the first half, playing great football and then we come out after HT and revert to hoofball and sitting back. Keane will be missed when he goes back, keeps us ticking over so well and combined really well with Nzog and Ireland in the first half. Keane MOTM. Bent had a good game but will be annoyed at himself for not putting away one of those chances. Should not have brought off Ireland or Nzogbia or changed tactics at HT so I think for this one the blame has to lie with the manager. City next week... brilliant.

Anyone fancy doing this? Basically if you want to do it say here and in a few days I will do an FA cup style draw to determine who sends who a compilation CD. You PM your address to whoever you're matched up with and they send you a mixtape they have made of songs they like. I've done it on a couple of band forums and it's a nice little way to get some new music (or discover old music) to listen.
