Dunne's idiocy cost me a tenner. Aside from that happy with the result, was never going to be easy on a poor pitch. Didn't want to post last night. Up there with Manure and Liverpool for home displays of incompetence yesterday. I actually felt like leaving after 70 minutes. Stayed til the end and we got even worse (with the exception of ALbrighton who I thought did alright when he came on). MOTM Ireland, glad he got the standing ovation but what a foolish decision to bring him off. Warnock had a shocker. I thought Clark did fine. Not much else to say, what a crashing comedown after CHelsea.

On the train down now, hoping we can carry on the momentum from the last three performances. If we score early I think we could smash Swansea four or five nil today,if its nil nil at HT the second half will be a nervy affair because they are not a bad side.(Hink /radner should come on after an hour if we are not losing. Bent, Ireland and Gardner to score in a 3nil win.

We need him. Sadly he doesn't need us as much as he did when he signed and regained his England place through scoring week in week out due to service from Young, Downing and Walker. I will be so disenfranchised if Bent leaves.

Good point at a very difficult place to go. Bent possibly would have scored the chance Fonz had but it was a brilliant save from Tommy and Gabby has to take a lot of credit for getting such a good ball in from a tight position. Thought Cuellar was MOTM, he should not lose his place when Hutton (inevitably) comes back in. Very solid. Clark made a couple of mistakes but I will put that down t lack of matches, he looked very assured. Heskey was better today but he should not play for us ever again when we have Weimann and Fnz on the bench. It is a shame for Guzan that Given will walk straight back into the team because he has been a more than capable deputy. Hopefully we can nick something against Chelsea because there have been encouraging signs in our last two games.

I cannot fathom why people would want to get rid of Bent. I t's almost as if people are saying that we wouldn't miss him much just in case he leaves so they can say well I wanted him to go anyway.

Posted after the game but just to re-iterate: Collins shouldn't play again, Dunne is so much better without him. Nzogbia might just be coming good! Ditto Ireland! Best performance of the season by a long way. Great atmosphere.

On train back from the ground now. We were brilliant tonight,by far our best performance of the season. Surprise surprise with no collins and heskey! Voted nzogbia motm, closely followed by ireland and dunne. Ireland deserves another start if he's fit and dunne looks so much better when he doesn't have to carry collins. Warnock was good again tonight. Hutton had his best game for us so far,canty comment on the red card as I couldn't see it from the holte. Marc albrighton looks to be back at last seasons level which is great. Thought it was an extremely soft pen. Gabby tonight proved that he is better in a two than on his own. Lots of promising things though and its the proudest we can be in defeat in a very long time. Up the villa.
