    I think our midfield is still a problem, ideally would like another one or two in this window. That said I still think Sanson will come good but not sure we can rely on him injury wise.

    I think age becomes less important depending on what the player relies on as he doesn’t exactly rely on pace constantly or anything like that. I would take Modric in a heartbeat for example and he is 36. He is still running the Madrid midfield today.

    Really happy with this deal, also excited to see who else we can attract. It’s clear Gerrard has a pull as a manager to attract higher quality players. Probably was in the board thinking long term.
