  1. Personally think he should be our 2nd choice striker behind a fully fit Gabby. I would be happy to have a mid table finish this season, if it meant that the like of Bannan, Albrighton, Clark, Gardner, Delph and Delfounso get a chance to develop there skill, because they are, are only real chance of making the top 4.
  2. You have idiots on both sides, if they want to fight each other, fine by me, as long as its away from the match in a empty industrial estate. Its annoys me that they decide to do it infront of one of the main entrance where you have alot of families and kids attending, would hate for it to go back to the old days, where football matches were no go for many people.
  3. Not a big fan of 3D, it okay for a lighthearted kid film, but Dark Knight was brillant without it, so don't see why we need to change it.
  4. Went for a week last year and it was just about right, would only go for a long weekend next time. Stay in a traditional Riad (Villa) its well worth it and you fully get the Marrakech feel, especially if you live in the local area, where we were invited to various parties by the local families (their food amazing). The square an experience as are the souks, but it get abit boring after a couple of times, if you go, check out Atlas Moutains or some better waterfall, you have to travel abit further and Essaourio which was the city Jimmy Hendrix spend alot of time in. If you know what you wanna do, you can pack it in a eventful weekend. Works out pretty cheap as well £120 for flights and a rented Villa which had sleeping space for 8.
  5. Would personally go to one of the Island off it, the people are more welcoming like Grenada. But Jamaica is the more lively island there, which has its positive and negative.
  6. I second that, watch loads of South Korean film over the past 6 months after watching Oldboys and this was one of the best if not the best I watched. Next on the list is Memories of Murder, which by all account is meant to be better then Mother.
  7. Thought he was from Bedford, I seen him in the Town a few time and know some people who went to school with him and I know he played for a local football team. Hope he play for england, his confidence need rebuilding after the Newcastle match, just hope he doesn't go down the same route as Delfounso has lately.
  8. He seem like he was a finisher, a fox in the box as they call it. But his all round game was poor, as was his decision making at time. Hopefully playing on the wing will allow for him to develop his game a little. He model himself on Henry, so a spell on the wing may do him some good. I also think it was a pity he didn't go on loan last season, it was just what he needed.
  9. I wasn't impressed with Nike quality. The Adidas kits are much more comfortable and normally a better design. Wouldn't mind Puma or Kappa as well. Definitely don't want Nike again.
  10. Watched A tale of two sisters and four lions this week so far, both very different films but brillant in there own ways. Four Lions is the funniest film I seen this year and A tale of two sister was actually scary in parts, screenplay was brillant, even though the storyline was abit complex, worth watching though.
  11. After managers like Donadoni, Koeman, Southgate, Maradona, Curbs, Ericcson and KMAC were linked with the job, I am buzzing we given it to Houllier. He the best of a bad lot that is currently available. People who had dreams of Mourihno and Hiddink, need a reality check, we some way off attracting CL quality players and World Class Manager. In Houllier we have someone who in his two years at the club could set us forward to getting CL football regularly.
  12. Koeman took a team that won the CL one season and was 15th when they finally had enough of him. Same with AZ, champion one season and when he took over they struggle and he only lasted till december. With a good Ajax team he did okay, but he did walk away from them as he did with PSV and Benfica. Good manager with a decent team in a poor league. In a competitive league he poor, even with a good team. So at Villa he would really struggle as our squad is top 8 at best and the league is very competitive. Just because he says the right thing, doesn't mean he any good.
  13. KMAC has to take responsibilty for the defeat IMO, because all 3 goals came from the left, where we were exposed as we had a right back who hardly plays for Villa in that role. Ireland also look like he was playing a holding role, there was large part of the game, I didn't know the role our midfielders were playing, who was on the right side of midfield? Heskey had a good game as did Albrighton and Young. The rest were average, didn't think Davies had a bad game apart from that joke of a clearance. Beye was out of position alot, but he look uncomfortable on the left though. Guzan didn't have a save to make all game, but they scored 3 goals some how, they showed more desire then us.
  14. I personally like the look of Owen Coyle, he seem to be a good young manager with decent amount of success from the two team he managed. He seem to play the game in the right way as well.
  15. LOL, I read about JT in one of McRae books. Surely he should give it up already.
  16. Hi General Recently I took my nephew on a tour of all the stadium around London, of all of them I was impressed with Chelsea the most. They had a interactive wall outside the ground, where the fans could sit with a large picture of the Chelsea squad, old players and dressing room team talk, where the fans could stand next to and take picture with, my nephew who only 7 years old loved it, I think something like that outside Villa Park would prove successful. Second point, I agree with everything you mention general, I think our support at Villa Park has been poor. It seem now Villa fans seem to be saying that Villa need to be winning and successful on the pitch before we can sell out Villa Park, we had a good season last season and Villa Park had empty seats. I think as Villa fans we lost sight of what it truely mean to support a club through thick and thin, we are like the spoilt brat you see glory supporting the big 4 teams, they just seem abit more loyal then what we have at Villa Park. Reading this forum, make me feel ashame to share the same clubs as some of these supporters.
  17. Does Sidwell have a injury or is he on the way out, there been rumours about going to the Baggies. Just surprise he not in the squad for Vienna, knew he was injured, but thought it had cleared up.
  18. Best film I watch this year has to be Une Prophete other films I recommend are City of God,Crash, Gran Torino,Oldboy, Sassy Girl(korean version), Departure, Amelie, No country for Old Men, Mystic River, American History X, Raging Bull, Uno, Magnolia, La Haine
  19. General, in regards to not putting the big screen up. It's the only way the holte end can see a reply of what happens, it's part of the match day experience and it would be a pity if it didn't go back up. On a side note, MON was a very popular manager at Villa, but to a man, I think all the Villa fans have supported yours and RL stance on the matter, which I hope you remember, when all our moaning on this board gets you down on ocassion, we do appreciate what you are doing at Villa, even though it sometime seem like we don't.
  20. Hey General I have been reading Paul McGrath book, excellent book a must read for all footy fans. I was wondering if it possible to get him to attend a future fixture, I know you have alot of special offers for the less attractive games, so was thinking a Paul McGrath Day would help sell tickets for certain games, it also give us fans a chance to show our appreciation for a true Villian, considering the bad press we got for Barry return, it will gives us a opportunity to show we not all bad, also player like Ian Taylor, Mellberg, Laursen and other loyal players of old could also be included.
