  1. Have a feeling Gabby will be the first high profile casualty of Sherwood's reign come the summer.
  2. Luke Williams is a 'non-starter' according to Tim Link removed There is an article on the mail website about it
  3. They key bit was 'if they are good enough' Which has been he biggest issue with our Academy in general for a long time now. We produce pros, just not good premier league ones (odd exception excluded)
  4. I've come round to the fact that his up and at 'em approach might just be enough to keep us up, but beyond that massive doubts remain. Huge game this weekend - needs to get some momentum quickly.
  5. Netflix has it exclusively in the UK I take it, it will eventually be shown on Sky or Fox et al? I'd say it's unlikely. Netflix have the exclusive rights to BB and BCS in the UK It could eventually be shown on another channel, but it will probably be a loooonnnng time coming
  6. Eh? The reason some of us wanted him to get more time is because we knew there were a dearth of candidates to replace him and our owner is a mentalist who could literally pick anyone. I'm not one to criticise fellow fans, but anyone who thinks Sherwood is a decent replacement for Lambert is quite frankly, wrong. Its like wanting rid of the Tories then trying to say UKIP wouldn't be a bad alternative. I know some were so desperate for Lambert to go, but accepting Sherwood as a viable alternative is just crazy. You think Lambert was going too relegate us? Wait till you get a load of Tim.
  7. I don't agree with that at all. A competant board would go and get the right man for the job, a man capable of keeping us up now and building on that in the summer The reason we are in this mess is because we already have brainless idiots running the club
  8. And then some I'd say. And the other part of the problem is, we just aren't an attractive proposition at the moment. We are all fur coat and no knickers. On on the face of it you have this grand old club, the very definition of a 'sleeping giant'. A club which measured by almost any yardstick, is one of the top 6 in the land. Great stadium, big fan base, amazing training facilities. Behind that though is a team that has been underfunded (shove your net spend) and a club that has been badly managed for pretty much four years. Now the owner wants out, but no one wants to buy us. We have a disillusioned fan base who have suffered during that time amidst economic shit storms and rising prices, leading to falling attendances and a greater level of apathy. To to top it off, I assume any new man will be under the same financial constraints as Lambert, with £10m a window (if that) and a restriction on wages. Any additional will rely on a growth in income or profit on sale of players. Its a tough, tough job and the Prem is cut throat - managers only tend to get one chance, if they **** up, further offers don't come around that often. The good young up and coming managers might baulk at the size of the task and experienced candidates may just see it as a poison chalice. Poaching someone one currently could prove very difficult imo.
  9. For the love of Paul McGrath, please, Please, PLEASE don't let it be Sherwood.
  10. We will be lucky to find another manger with the honesty, integrity and all round class that this guy had. Never been this gutted about a manger going, even though I know it's 100% the right thing for all concerned.
  11. Well the ingredients are there, but they require kneading into shape and he will need to rise to the challenge. If he goes in half baked we could be left with a right shit sandwich.
  12. The man has solid steel kahunas, I'll give him that. Brave team selection tonight.
  13. Can't see a single reason why Liverpool would want to sell, unless we have either made a daft bid - well over what they paid or they have someone else lined up to come in. They are struggling up top and whilst he has failed to get going so far, they would be mad to let him go and be left with Borini and the Nutjob as the only options whilst Sturridge works his way back.
  14. Let's get cantcontrol in quick before Pulis signs him!
  15. But can't we loan more than two if two of them are from the same club? So Ade might be out the equation, but we could get Januzaj? On another note SSN is dying on its arse at the minute, there is nothing happening. Best part of the day so far has been Gary Neville refusing to wear the yellow tie (although he caved a bit with the suit pocket square!) No the rules are - Maximum of 4 loans Maximum of 2 from the premier league Maximum of 1 from a club So we're done with prem loans, got 2 more available from foreign clubs It was entirely unfunny, but my post was a joke reference to the whole 'can we loan two from the same club' debate that had gone on before. I did genuinely forget we already had two in when I mentioned Ade initially though!
  16. I think the site and all members would spontaneously combust if we paid £8m for anyone!

  18. Completely against my better judgement, but I would take Adebayour on loan until the end of the season. Even if he only tries for the first 4 or 5 games, his goals might be enough to get us moving in the right direction and give Benteke someone to think about. Would be a lot less risk than a £9m + wages mentioned for Ba and a lt cheaper than the last striker we brought to save us from relegation.
  19. He's continuing to take a massive gamble with our future (and the future of his investment). By choosing to neither back or sack his manager, he is just leaving us in limbo and hoping there a three worse teams than us (again) Amazes me that this thread often slips to page 2/3 while the manager gets called every name under the sun on an almost daily basis. Lerner should be the subject of people's anger - blame the puppet master, not the puppet.
  20. If the current trend continues, not enough. I can't see an end to the austerity on steroids anytime soon.
  21. I'm going to take Fabian at his word. I don't think he has signed this deal as a 'favour' to protect his value - I believe he genuinely wants to stay and become a 'legend' Whether there is a release clause or not I think we have got him until summer 2016 at the very least and I genuinely believe he will only go if it's a 'dream move' and he feels he will be a regular for any prospective buyer. Seems a sensible lad and has probably seen the grass isn't always greener elsewhere. Thanks Fabian, if a couple of others had done a similar thing in the past, we wouldn't be where we are today.
