Took Angel a while to settle in.
Different pace to midfield in the Premiership to other countries, so he needs to get used to that so he doesnt look rash.
Also came late in the summer so might need some time to bed and settle down with his new teammates.
Hopefully he is taking a masterclass off Roy on how to scare the brown stuff out of the opposing midfield
Well apart from that first game against Southampton where he probably froze a bit. Westwood kicked on from that point becoming consistent, Lowton on the other hand..
Go home, you're drunk.
Not at all.
I would be more pissed off as an Arsenal fan. They have the money, the London pull, champions league etc yet are not trying hard to bring someone special in to give that push for the title.
They could all be signed sealed and delivered but Villa are awaiting to announce at 11pm along with our new owner who says hello boys and girls I come bearing gifts.
Then again we could get Marlon Harewood
The infrastructure of the Club was also run down under Ellis.
Reports of him going around turning everything off to save money on the electricity bill.
Gary McAllister was considered an old knacker well past his prime when let go by Coventry. Liverpool snapped him up and he inspired them to multiple trophies.
This could be a great signing and why not us taking a gamble rather than watching him for another team and moaning why wasn't we in for him.
At least he is used to claret and blue
"A succession of injuries and an in-house issue with the Villa hierachy last season left the versatile Herd, 25, with just two first team appearances and with it all to prove to coach Paul Lambert - in what is shaping as a make-or-break season."
So was Herd the one that was being bullied?
I think it was Graham Taylor that welcomed Alpay back from the World Cup and not Gregory.
Wasnt Alpay still with us when O'Leary took over and started him instead of Melburg in the first game against Portsmouth which we then lost.
I think this isn't too bad a signing and worth the gamble.
This isn't though like Merson signing. Merson was on fire for boro (admit in Championship) and a current England International when he signed.
This is more like when we released Merson who went and had a storming season at Pompey.
BUT if we are making comparisons what about when an old 36 yr old Gary McCallister left coventry and joined Liverpool. He then had one of the seasons of his career driving what had been an under performing Liverpool team to the UEFA Cup.
or closer to home: When Atkinson brought Cowans home for once last stint.
I know this racks me off no end - someone said they spent £12m less than Man City last summer - they also have a few bomb squad (big fees but not getting a game ) players.....
the 50m wasted on Downing and Carrol - would blow most clubs transfer for budget for a couple of seasons ....yet the myth continues...
Good thought I was going mad and the only one who could see through the Emperor's (Liverpool) clothes.
The myth around Liverplop is unreal. LAst season was comparable to Villa 89-90 under Taylor. Had a great run took us to top after a great win against Spurs. Both bottled it in the end.
They won the same as us last season.
