  1. We'll be cautious of Spurs at first, but then we'll grow into the game and attack more IMO. I doubt Young will be against Corluka, he'll probably play off Heskey or Carew. Huddlestone will be getting the run around hopefully. I'll be fairly confident we can keep a clean sheet if Spurs just lump diagonal balls up to Crouch but I'm very worried about Bale. NRC will probably have VDV in his pocket if he's ordered to mark him out the game.
  2. It seems that the two stingiest clubs in the Premier League are Man Utd and Spurs. Is it any coincidence that their owners are of a particular religion?
  3. Anybody else think that Clark looks like Torres from that angle?
  4. Good one of the most inconsistant goalkeepers i have ever seen, 9 times out of 10 the guy is a clown but he does have an exceptional game every now and again I think you've got mixed up there. 9 out of 10 Gomes is solid in goal, but he can occassionally do something crazy. Like jump into Stoke players and cry
  5. doesn't work on my TV as I haven't subscribed to Sky, I've just got a Sky box. Could have said more clearly!
  6. Northampton or Brentford at home please!
  7. You do know that the BBC will no doubt play 45 mins of top 4 games, then play a minute of the rest of the matches. No matter how entertaining they were.
  8. I haven't been impressed by Ireland yet but I know he's a quality player and a quality signing, just give him time played behind the striker and see him excel.
  9. I hate reading this I had very high hopes for Delfouneso and thought he'd partner Gabby regularly this season. He's definitely good enough IMO. Sounds like another wasted talent at Villa I suppose you could add Forrester, Whittingham, Moore brothers, and Cahill to the list, although the circumstances regarding Cahill is very different.
  10. Who has said Delph will be defensive mid? I feel he should play in a midfield three of him, NRC and Ireland. With Ireland being the attacking player and Delph and NRC being the box to box player they are. Although in the games against more attacking opposition we should play NRC more defensive.
  11. But Yakubu is shit now, as he's about 35 years old. Everton have a team full of nobs. Cahill, Fellaini, Heitinga, Beckford, Pienaar.... I could go on.
  12. How did the ref not send Fellaini off and how did he not give a penalty when Coleman took out Nolan in the box. That also should have been a red card aswell. I don't see why refs are so lenient on Fellaini, I'd send him of nearly every match if I was a ref.
  13. I can see Spurs struggling for top 4 because of the Champions League this season. Well I hope they do No way are they nailed on for top 4, they look as though they were lucky to beat Wolves due to poor defending. Why don't Wolves play that shit against Villa?
  14. There was so many things that KMac did wrong today and it's so frustrating as Bolton were there for the taking if we wanted to. First of all, why play an obviously injured Dunne? He was shit and always was going to be if he's injured, just rest him and it will not only help him get a rest, but it will mean that the team improves as well. Really not hard. Dropping NRC? WTF is he thinking? He was pivotal in all the good things that came out of the Stoke game yet we drop him? playing Ireland in a 4-4-2. Not subbing Albrighton or Petrov earlier than he did. Not make Young target Steinsson, as Steinsson is **** shit! Get Gabby to roam around the defence so that he's not constantly being man-handled by Knight. The list could go on and on and it is no coincidence whatsoever that all the games NRC has played, we have either won or had a good performance and all of the games NRC hasn't played, we have either lost or played shit. Hopefully this will help convince fans that NRC is crucial to Villa. And we also need to play him to convince him to agree to a new contract. We don't want him to leave on a free do we?
  15. Albrighton's performance today just shows how he is not ready yet and is being very over-hyped. I don't want to be overly critical about him but some of his play today was very very poor. Seems like a one trick pony to me. Can't pass, never looks up, just runs at the full back and whips in a cross to the 6 yard box even if there is nobody there. He's just frustrating, he wasted so many opportunities due to being naive. Just runs at players and thinks he can beat 5 players by himself even when somebody is free at the other end of the pitch. Just had to put that out there.
  16. It wasn't Ireland playing bad, it was MacDonald's tactics which were shocking. I could have done better myself. At the end he was playing.. Albrighton--Petrov--Young--Downing Gabby--Carew No wonder Bolton were overrunning us at the end of the game.
  17. Oh and surely we could just get our players to shoot at goal as much as possible if we're struggling as Bogdan looks a little bit dodgy.
  18. Likely Boilton team will be.... Bogdan Steinsson--O'Brien--Knight--Robinson Lee--Muamba--Holden--Petrov Klasnic--Elmander Elmander always scores at Villa Park. Their attack looks decent but their defence looks woeful. Ashley Young torments Steinsson everytime they come up against each other and Albrighton will run Robinson ragged. And Knight or O'Brien will not be able to handle Gabby's power and pace. Easy win I think.
  19. Why are people saying 'Whenever I've seen him play in the Prem....". He has played 5 minutes in the Premiership so how can you judge a player from that? I'd like to see Bannan get a run out against Bolton, he deserves it if he scores a hatrick against Man Utd reserves. That is the kind of thing I want to see under Houllier. Good young players actually getting a chance to play. Why go out and pay £5 million for players like Sidwell who are on big wages when we could use our own youth players on much lower wages as they'd be content with just playing.
  20. Do you know Carlos then? I feel a bit sorry for Carlos, he is probably too good a player to constantly stay on the bench but then again so is Luke Young. Dunne has looked dodgy so if that's because he's slightly injured, then it's better for everybody concerned to rest Dunne for a game or two. I think Carlos is more than ready to step up.
  21. I've never heard of Don Broadman, but I know Don Broadhurst is a Villa fan, they sound similar.
  22. In the reserves against Man Utd tonight.
  23. I too don't rate Johnson as highly as the media do. Just don't get it. He's decent and makes things happen, but only against the poorer teams IMO. Watch him go up against a decent full back and he does nothing whereas Ash constantly terrorises nearly every player he comes up against. And if not, then he puts in a very good cross. Johnson does neither and Young is constantly triple marked and teams focus on players other than Johnson when he plays for both England and Citeh.
  24. Completely disagree. There will be little hoofball in the game, at least not from Villa. Why would we hoof the ball up to Gabby against Huth or Shawcross? It'll be a good game with Villa winning 3-1 for me. Although I agree that we should play Ireland in the hole and Ashley back on the left wing, like every Villa fan.
