Only just realised that Anthony Annan plays for Schalke. Shame, I would have liked him at Villa.

I personally think he is the most composed and athletic CB we have. Him and Cuellar would be a great partnership . Delph hasn't played a lot recently and i think he'd really enjoy a game like this. I was considering putting NRC in but he has played the last few games and I think it's a good sign that we can change players which are better suited to play against the opposition. Along with a tough CM like Delph, I think Makoun will do well, especially now that he'll want to prove he is good enough after getting dropped. The front four are pretty much self explanatory. Abdomlahor has to come in now!

Have got some absolutely horrible memories against Stoke. The 3-2 at Stoke The 2-1 at Stoke and the 2-2 at VP. Possibly the worst feeling I have had as a Villa supporter. Everyone in the stands were in utter shock.

Jermaine Pennant seems to disagree. He thinks Stoke are destined for a top 10 finish. But then again he also thinks he should be playing for England and he also believes he's the best crosser of the ball in England

Baines would never join Villa. Forget about it. He rejected bayern Munich to stay at Everton and is a lifelong Everton fan. Just like if Gabby was playing out of his skin, would he then move to Tottenham? I don't think so.

I thought all Villa fans were crying out for Bent to sign for Villa. Especially when he left Spurs. I think an ITK said MON was interested but he didn't want to go any higher than £9 million for him.

C'mon son, the guy has paid his dues at Villa, as had Barry. Milner is the only one of the three that I actually feel bitter about, cause I felt he hadn't paid his. I sort of agree with you on the Young with Milner comparison but I don't think we should accept that Young can leave because he has given us good service. We should be looking to get 10 years service of Ash IMO. We shouldn't accept Villa as a feeder club IMO. I say we constantly chant at Young to sign a contract. Probably won't work but it did for Laursen in the Tottenham game a few years ago 8) Same goes for Walker. And the game was brilliant. I was getting pissed off at the fact that we had thrown away 2 points by not converting chances again but then Gabby pops up with the goal. The only thing that I was disappointed with was that Gabby didn't celebrate with the Villa fans.

Anyway, all West Spam defenders are terrible, so it doesn't really matter who plays for them in defence. yes mate, i was fuming! it was right at the end of that 1-1 draw wasn't it? think they had one shot all game which wasnt even on target but hit diego tristan and went in. it was also the game we had to wear the previous season's away strip because they neglected to bring anything that wasn't claret and blue. what a shambles. haha yes I remember it well. Heskey also missed an absolute sitter in front of the Holte End as well, Carew flicked the ball over the defenders head brilliantly and Heskey fluffed the chance. Funny how these incidents still get you angry even though it was years ago.

I still think Ireland can be a good player for Villa. He'd make a cheap and cost effective replacement for Young. We need to remember how good Ireland was in that one season for City when he played behind the striker and as an attacking midfielder. I really hope he comes back to Villa and plays out of his skin behind Bent or Gabby.

The Losers is a really brilliant film. Zoe Saldana is in it and it has everything in it for me.

I'm mainly worried about set pieces for the Everton game so I'm pleased that Cahill, Fellaini and Saha are out. Getting anything out of this game would be great but I've got a feeling we are going to win this. Young, Downing and Bent are on a high and should really perform against Everton. Jagielka looked very very dodgy against Ghana, certainly not as good as I thought he was. He either just has bad England games or is in bad form at the moment. I hope we can take advantage of his poor performances and low confidence.

Am I missing something here? What's the connection between Ashton and SWP? Yeh SWP broke his ankle very badly on England training and that basically led to other injuries and effectively ended his career.

Didn't know where else to put this but I just read an article on Dean Ashton. He said that Shaun Wright Phillips didn't even call him after he announce his retirement. Personally I thought that was disgusting behaviour from him.

I don't care bout Citeh either way, so I'm not totally biased against Citeh but I think I need to correct you on a few things. First of all, those chants are all banter. And we say "Have you won THE European Cup?" I don't think you can brag about a 32k average gate in the 3rd tier of English football when Villa got 48k nearly every game when we in the 3rd division. Finally, it's not bitterness towards City, it's just that copying Lech Poznan looks quite bad. In fact I cringe every time they do it after they score aswell . As do a lot of people I'd guess.

Bannan has said he wants to stay at Villa and Houllier has said he wants Bannan to stay at Villa for the rest of the season. Not going to happen.

I remember Porto were cheating bastards in a FRIENDLY against Villa in the Peace cup. Got Heskey sent off by pretending he had been shot when Heskey touched him. This was all because Villa didn't kick the ball out of play when a Porto player was obviously feigning injury. Actually hate Porto, and all Portuguese teams really, because of that.
