  1. Hustled, made a couple of the same runs as he did vs Norwich, teammates just couldn't find him this time. Can't put much blame on him given how little was clicking throughout the entire side bar Jack.
  2. Ecstatic to get the win, especially in such dramatic fashion, but we really need to be taking control of matches at home. Brighton were all over us until the red and had too easy a time of it in the second. We just aren't winning enough battles, second balls, etc and can be a bit too lax and sloppy at times. Did better eventually, calmed it down and held on, but still never felt like bossing it. Think Douglas Luiz may need to start instead of Hourihane just for more presence and composure, and El Ghazi may need to start on the bench again to motivate him.
  3. The eternal Hourihane Dilemma: virtually a passenger, but should've had a goal and two deadly free kicks.
  4. You're behind the times, writing him off was last week... mostly.
  5. One of his legs is a little over an inch shorter than the other, would imagine that accounts for his gait.
  6. Thrilled to have to think about MOTM for once. In spite of Marv's quality throughout, gotta give it to Wes just due to his reaction to last game. Stepped up his work rate enormously, started winning his battles, scored two, nearly had three, and did he assist Douglas on the fifth? Can't find a replay yet.
  7. Engels has looked much less calm and confident and Mings has been less decisive. Can't help but wonder if our bad luck has started getting to their heads.
  8. Looks unhappy on the pitch, to the point where it's almost like he's looking for reasons to fail, though oddly enough, he seemed to step up a gear after that ball to the face.
  9. Familiar problems on our end no doubt but we were boned by the ref yet again, their first never should've stood and should've had a straight red there for that tackle on Jack.
  10. Looked good, think he'll look even better when we play a good passer next to him.
  11. Don't understand the challenge at all, could've left the arm out and the Arsenal man probably just dives and gets nothing from the ref. No need to give him anything substantial to work with.
  12. Needs to tell the players to stop attempting 30-yard passes through the middle of the pitch when we're ahead and especially towards the end of games. Also needs to work on recovering second balls, we're never getting to them, whether it's fitness or our shape or lack of subs or whatever.
  13. Killed by poor tactics and even worse subs. If we wanted to shut up shop, Hourihane and Doug on for El Ghazi and McGinn (who was totally winded by 70 minutes), when I saw Elmo on for Trez I knew that was it.
  14. Desperately needs a good goal or assist, all that effort but nothing coming off, was clearly getting to his head by the end.
  15. Put in a couple excellent balls, looked like (as in previous games) he's always just waiting for someone to get close to receive the pass or at least take a defender away but they never come so he holds it too long and loses it to a double team. Still looks more like a 10 than a winger.
  16. Dunno if anyone in the UK would know this song (it was pretty big here in its day, but beware, it's maximum sappy), but this chorus was the first thing that sprang to mind:
  17. Brought a tear to my eye after the whistle just watching on TV. What a sound.
  18. Absolutely ran things when he had the ball. Think Freddie was definitely the right choice to play with him on that flank, too.
