  1. as has been said by a number of people, we're right on the line for FFP. failure to get CL means someone is leaving this summer. he's the one that (IMO) we would miss the least of the key players as has been proven in games he's missed
  2. with talks of us being close to FFP and needing to sell one of the top players, i can see him being fairly high up the list of potential outgoings. what can i say, i've never fully warmed to the guy. he's had moments and spells of being great for us, but we just seem look better when he's not playing.
  3. this is a fantastic point. this forum would read TOTALLY differently if we'd drawn to arsenal, then won against bournemouth and tonight.
  4. the 2nd was definitely against the run of play. olsen changes our game play so it's fair that emi going off might have galvanised them, the same way it would if you were playing PSG and mbappe goes off.
  5. southampton are absolutely terrible now. it's 100% the team you'd want to be playing in the playoffs. if i were norwich, i'd certainly not be rolling over vs blues and doing everything possible to finish 5th
  6. apparently they're happy with a draw. someone needs to get a message onto the pitch that a goal and they're safe
  7. i don't think many could've predicted that palace result either and mateta was one of the best striker options for this week only, but you'd never have him otherwise. stuff like that just massively went against those of us that didn't FH
  8. red eye...dreadful, but annoyingly watchable want something silly and easy to follow then go for it. but keep expectations low.
  9. my WC draft so far: definites: haaland, watkins, isak, gordon, foden, son, palmer (edit: if fit, obvs), a spurs defender (probably porro), a newcastle defender (probably burn or schar) probables: ederson, pickford, another spurs midfielder (probably johnson), dunk no idea: the remaining 2 defender spaces.
  10. 100% moving on salah (already done in fact) no way i'm moving haaland when he's got a double on the horizon and no europe to be rotated for
  11. can't believe i just paid £1 to pump my tyres up. it used to be only 20p i guess that's inflation for you
  12. interesting idea. they don't necessarily hire/fire managers but acting as that middle man between manager and board. like recommending to sack the manager, or rejecting a manger's suggestion of a player, or suggesting players to the manager. working with manager if tactics aren't working etc
  13. rank taken an absolute battering. 40k-80k and counting
  14. think it would've been even later had we been playing fenerbahce. watched the pen shootout vs olympiakos and the commentators mentioned that it was gone 1am there when the pens were being taken!
  15. FM25 will have a chairman mode apparently. am i the only one that thinks that would be really fun? something totally different
  16. Rayner: "tories are obsessed with my living arrangements" Dowden then makes a shit joke about her living arrangements
  17. god how good would peak gareth barry be under unai? dougie for him is the only one from the above (gidman and mortimer are before my time)
  18. it's a really interesting wildcard decision this week. chelsea and utd have good fixtures but both are utter cack initial thoughts are going big on spurs and newcastle
  19. yeah the "i'll sell if this fee is met" started massively backfiring when clubs started to meet that fee left right and centre so as you say, you get a reputation for not keeping promises and that upsets people more! i'm finding it easier to just do the "you're not going anywhere" comment and the only time i give in is where they announce they'll leave on a free at the end of their contract. it's manageable though. there's normally a small window between transfer windows where they're all fairly happy and i can use that window to extend contracts. the rare occasions when i'm having to give in i do find that i can create a good bidding war. example being the last player i sold, bids started at 5m, he ended up going for a total package of over 50m.

what a lovely bit of unexpected good news. fantastic. probably one of the club's top earners you'd have thought now?
