  1. Apologies, reading the post of mine you have quoted again it reads as if I'm saying any Legia fans who come to town ticketless should get a kicking it was meant to be two separate points which I articulated poorly, as that is absolutely not what I think!
  2. Can we blow the roof off VP on Thursday pretty please? Show the deluded 'we're so hard and everyone is scared of us' Legia fans who have just celebrated a poxy 50 years of their main stand (33 years junior to our own glorious Holte) what Villa Park on a European night can be like.
  3. Christ, no pleasing some folk is there! Everyone is entitled to their opinion but we're fourth in the league, two points off the top and close to winning the group in the UECL for crying out loud.
  4. Strange isn't it, you'd think the British tabloid sensationalist media would be all over 52 English football fans getting nicked abroad but (thankfully) nothing over here.
  5. Can I pay your missed wages? Feel like we might need you lot on Thursday, reports they are bringing 3,000 knowing full well they've only got 1,000 allocation 52 of our mob were given lifetime Villa Park bans for the heinous crime of boarding a train to Alkmaar, it's time for the rest of us to step up
  6. I'm not entirely sure what difference that would make.
  7. It's nothing to do with AVFC, it's totally UEFA's decision. Considering the Legia support think they are all big tough guys, they cry a lot when they don't like a decision and I think many need an education as to what the term 'racism' means as I have seen many online refer to decisions in Alkmaar and now for this upcoming game as 'racism'.
  8. Not having to queue for a pint in the concourse is a myth though, same queue as most stadia in my experience (attended the fixture last season).

    Unai Emery

WTF are we going to do when (shudders) he leaves/retires?!
  10. 03/03/03. A date etched in my brain forever, I was eight years old yet I remember it like it was yesterday. What I'd give to re-live that entire day above legal drinking age! Villa terrace folklore...
  11. Born in Sutton Coldfield (Good Hope Hospital), parents (lifelong Villa fan Dad from Northfield, South Brum/Mom from Lichfield but both lived in Burntwood, Aston, Great Barr and Four Oaks before I was born) moved us to a small village between Cannock and Lichfield called Cannock Wood when I was 4/5, lived there until they moved to Lichfield when I was in my second of three years at university in Southampton and for the last eight years after graduating after a few months back with Mom and Dad in Lichfield I have lived in Wiltshire near to Swindon thanks to my partner (now fiancée) whom I met in year one at uni as it's where she grew up! Wherever I've been and wherever I go in the future, Aston Villa Football Club will always be with me. Stand-out 'glutton for punishment' moments include spunking most of my student loan payment to pay to fly from Southampton airport to Leeds/Bradford to witness us get panned by League Two Bradford City in the semi-final first leg of the League Cup under Paul Lambert and holding the proud record of attending - by hook or by crook - every league game home and away of the (shudders) Alex McLeish tenure of doom.
  12. Needs to be seriously loud for the Legia game in a couple of weeks. Could do with the blaring music being switched off ten minutes before kick-off, as many flags as possible, a huge tifo of a lion mauling a gorilla as a response to their 'Jungle' display in the game at their place dropping down from the roof of the Holte and everyone to be well-oiled for an 8pm kick-off!
  13. AZ have shat it, not selling tickets for their trip to Warsaw due to fears around safety: https://www.az.nl/nl/nieuws/geen-kaartverkoop-legia-warschau-az
  14. A lot of Legia fans are crying 'racism' on social media because we're not giving them a 3,000 allocation. Which is not only out of AVFC's hands as it's down to UEFA not Villa, it's more than any other European visiting team would get at Villa Park. I'm also not entirely sure how a football stadia ticketing allocation not being to their liking classes as racism (I've seen a large number of Legia fans and club officials use the 'r' word to describe the treatment they received at AZ as well - which from as far as I could examine was no different to the way we were treated in Warsaw but we didn't cry about it to the extent they did - yet the week after off their main stand Legia fans unfurled a huge anti-migration banner to which I imagine the irony was lost on a lot of them and also the fact that millions of Polish migrants reside in other countries around the world), but hey ho, a number of their fans seemingly aren't the brightest...
  15. I agree 100%, unfortunately I think we're in the minority and this is certainly not the thinking of the clubs or authorities!
  16. The Project B6 thread is now on the front page of this forum, a brilliant tribute in the form of the banner and phone torch display from them last night, I saw on social media they are trying to organise a tifo response to Legia's 'Jungle' themed display against us for the return match in three weeks at Villa Park. I actually thought the atmosphere last night was one of the best of the season, I brought one of my best mates along who's not a Villa fan for his first time in the Holte End and his comment was it was 'noisy'... I agree with @Demitri_C though and we said this frequently last night, we really need to be like it's a game against SHA against Legia, I admire the expense and distance they travelled midweek to support their team but I was actually a bit disappointed at how quiet the AZ fans were last night, Legia will be on a different planet support-wise, will be a tasty one for sure!

    Project B6

Have to give immense credit to PB6 for the Charlie Aitken surfer banner and for organising the phone torch display last night as a tribute. The torches shining was brilliant in its simplicity and looked fantastic. I saw on social media they are thinking of a tifo to respond to Legia's 'Welcome to the Jungle' display for the return game at VP in three weeks, hope it can be pulled off!
  18. Any going to ST holders tomorrow do we reckon?
  19. Project B6 are trying to organise everyone showing their phone torches in the 3rd minute which would be a lovely gesture. I'll be really annoyed if the club themselves don't do anything, I'm sure they will.
  20. Plenty of tickets have just become available from those ST holders who have not claimed their seats.
  21. It's nowhere near the nicest pub in town but The Windsor on Cannon Street has been used by Villa fans for decades, a real AVFC stronghold, always packed before home matches and a lovely array of Villa stickers in the gents and a superbly drawn 'AVFC' in black marker pen on the urinal cistern Actually, probably just stick to the Barton Arms or The Old Contemptibles
  22. Legia was different as e-tickets were sent out, but with AZ I believe it will be tickets have to be collected like Hibs (a) and if they aren't without a flipping good reason that fan gets punished etc.
