  1. Don't worry, big Wes on the bench. He will sort them out.
  2. Yes, most clubs do it. Not to help with FFP though, payment terms don't affect FFP calculations. It's done to soften cash flow impact. According to last published accounts Arsenal had the highest transfer debt in Premier League. It might have changed someway since then.
  3. I don't think this game is televised at all. Let me know if you find any stream. I think avtv only is only streaming our home youth games from bodymoor heath
  4. Is this game available live or as a rerun on avtv?
  5. Exactly not what we looking for. We looking for someone for this season. It's only a good deal if he develops as they expect him to. Still a gamble.
  6. There are hundreds of 18 year olds with potential out there (we have few of them ourselves). If we need a midfielder, we need one who can step in and do the job right now. Spurs can allow him to learn on the job giving him some minutes in the Europa conference league probably. Good luck to him.
  7. The rules around related party sponsorship deals have been tightened over last few years, in reaction to what Man City and PSG were doing. Every sponsorship deal like that is scrutinised for market value and any excess is excluded from FFP and P&S calculations. It would be waste of money for NSWE. They might as well let others pay the market value sponsorship and top up with equity injections, as they have been doing for last 3 years.
  8. I don't think people outside of Arsenal realise what effect he had on them. Since joining them on loan at the end of January they had 4th best record in the Premier league in last 17 match days, behind only man city, Chelsea and United.
  9. Excellent deal that for the reported £30m ( odeegard not ramsdale that is )
  10. But UEFA won't reverse this trend without regulatory pressure. It was UEFA who agreed to the coefficient based payments. More so, they even implemented now coefficient based qualification to CL, coming into effect as of 22/23 season. So for example, if Liverpool were to finish 6th in the league, they would still get into CL based on coefficientt.
  11. The same people who moan about this on Facebook want the club to keep signing £30m players...clueless, typical have your cake and eat it at the same time.
  12. Most of them will never play for Villa's first team. They will be loaned out. From club's perspective it's a numbers game. Each individual young player has very small chances of making it big in the game. Hence we need large numbers of them for few to make it big for us. Majority will be loaned and sold to lower league clubs for small fees to offset costs of their development.
  13. I think you have a typo there, it's 70%, not 30%. Couple points: 1. We don't know the details of this proposal yet. All we know is the headline figure of 70% of the revenue. There might be some provisions in there like the one you suggesting. 2. This is UEFA proposal, it doesn't apply to all Premier League teams, only to the ones that qualify for Europe. Premier league would also need to adopt this rules for them to apply. 3. Your last paragraph summarise our situation very well. 10 years of criminal negligence and mismanagement came at the worst possible time for us. We missed the departing train complety and are stuck on the platform with no obvious way to catch it.
  14. It's 19/20 season, the one where most teams deferred some income. Burnley, Palace, Newcastle, Norwich and Sheffield United didn't. Numbers for 20/21 season are not published yet
  15. Not so fast. Rwanda just extended their sleeve sponsorship with arsenal for £10m per season.
  16. Correct, although that would be offset by improved wages of mings, mcginn, konsa and target. Plus all the new signings. I would still expect us to be in "top" 3 unfortunately
  17. @villa4europe @blandy Latest published wages to revenue ratios courtesy to Swiss ramble below. We are not looking good and would be one of the first teams punished if salary cap was to be introduced. Bear in mind that revenue values are affected by covid, so the ratios are likely to drop now for everyone once stadiums are fully open again.
  18. They're doing great business selling their academy cast offs. One of the reasons why they don't have to cheat FFP anymore to be able to sign grealish AND kane.
  19. I reserve my judgement until we see full details of what UEFA are to propose. But agree, salary cap purely based of revenue will only lead to entrenching the current elite even further. Blanket salary cap is an interesting one. Difficult to get it right though, set it too high and it won't matter much. Set it low and you will see players filing lawsuits left right and centre that UEFA is denying them income.
  20. Yes, we will be getting some money for renting the venue. It's all classed as commercial revenue and counts towards any FFP calculations.
  21. 1. Shorter term Keep Carney happy 2. Longer term make small profit on him
  22. YouTube player highlights should be banned. I just watched Alexander Tonevs clip and he still looks amazing after all these years.
  23. I see him being loaned out. He wasn't even a starter for Northampton in Ligue 2 last season, made 20 appearneaced off the bench and only 4 starts. For 19 year old it's not that impressive...I wonder if we bought him to keep Carney happy?
  24. Smaller team would never be given that much loans, their revenue would not be able to support it. There's nothing in the rules prohibiting you from taking on debt. As long as you not defaulting on repayments.
  25. Debt is dirt cheap nowadays...2-3% So probably around £30 million. Not significant in comparison to their £600m revenue
