I love Smith and everything he did for the club, but Gerrard has added some much needed steel to the team. Love it when Young gets into the players faces when the oppo fouls. Gave Konsa motd. Ref needs sacking.

I would like Sanson to get a start because he looked good in his cameo last night. I was half watching a few games last night (Thanks Amazon!) and Maddison looked sharp, like he is getting back to his old self so this game will be tricky. Soyencu is a weak link for them.

What a difference a few games make. 'Why is he starting?' was the main issue and now people want him in from the start. Think it shows you shouldn't judge players on a handful of games.

Won the second half. Hate how City always foul when you are trying to create an attack, but it's something the top teams do. Happy to see Chuk and Sanson come on. We'll beat them next time. Also, to add that I thought Mike Dean was decent tonight.

An injury like that would affect you mentally though. Not saying he would have made the grade or not, but he might think twice before going into a tackle because of the injury. Also, it's not uncommon for someone to look poor in your first season at a new club.
